As the wizards conquered all the surrounding World Clusters and the war with the Player Civilization grew less intense, the Wizarding World gradually shifted from a state of unrestrained expansion back to normalcy.

Every civilization had an expansion threshold. Once it exceeded that threshold, its control over frontier powers would fail. If those powers continued to grow, they could easily split away, plunging the civilization into civil war.

What determined this threshold was a civilization's ability to project power, as well as the limits of its information transmission.

As the wizards reached the threshold of their expansion, the Wizarding World shifted from an era of growth into the Stock Era.

Inevitably, the Wizarding World faced another wave of change since Green's return.

With resources limited, the struggle over them within the Wizarding World grew ever fiercer. Yet when confronted with this conflict, the wizards seemed at a loss.

The wizards of the Ancient Era had never entered the Stock Era. A sudden upheaval had instead caused the world's decline, so they had never encountered this problem and naturally had no solution for it.

Or rather, some wizards had thought about it, but still hadn't found a solution.

For wizards, resources were the supplies essential to conducting experiments. No wizard pursuing Truth and the unknown would ever think he had too many resources; he would only complain that he had too few.

And so a fundamental conflict arose between the wizards who held vast resources during the Pioneering Era and those who came after it ended.
