Suddenly, a tremendous roll of muffled thunder came from the sky overhead.
Dago and his two companions instinctively looked up. A dazzling ball of lightning, composed of countless bright purple bolts, streaked across the sky.
Within that ball of lightning, they could vaguely make out a tall, slender figure.
As the lightning passed overhead, the figure cast a glance at them.
In an instant, countless blazing bolts seemed to flash before Dago's eyes. The mental grey sun in his mind trembled slightly, and he narrowed his eyes.
A Third-Ring Wizard.
And most likely a powerful wizard at the Mid Third Circle or above.
"It's Gellman."
Violet's low voice sounded beside him, strained with a hint of difficulty.
Dago's eyes flickered. As it happened, he knew that name.
On the list of prodigies Violet had given him a day earlier, the very first name on the first page was—Gellman Hokal.
"Thunder Tower's greatest prodigy, the youngest deputy tower pillar in its history, and so far, the only known wizard among the six major powers to have reached the Mid Third Circle...
"He's also the man who once defeated Baker, the Thorn Ring's greatest prodigy, in a head-on battle."
Everything Violet recited was information contained in that report.
Yet hearing him speak it aloud, word by word, gave it an inexplicable weight.
Any one of those titles would have been enough to make a wizard famous throughout the six major powers. With all of them gathered upon a single person, that person naturally shone with unparalleled brilliance.
"Ever since Gellman made his name, he's been like a mountain, pressing down on everyone beneath him until they can hardly breathe. They say Baker has always considered him his greatest rival."
Violet spoke slowly, then turned to give Dago a complicated look.
