Background & History

Morgan was born to Lady Igraine and Duke Tintagel. In her youth, she had blonde hair like Artoria's; it later became silver-white as she devoted herself to magical study. 2 4 67

Joscelin Brando abducted Igraine for King Uther and killed Duke Tintagel during the conquest of Cornwall. He subsequently captured Morgan, whose anger toward him stemmed from both losses. 2 Uther approved Joscelin's proposal to marry Morgan, removing her claim to the throne and placing her under Joscelin's control. Morgan believed the marriage had spared her execution, though she continued to threaten revenge. 2

Morgan's feelings gradually became a mixture of affection and hatred. She ultimately redirected much of her resentment toward Uther, recognizing that Joscelin had acted for his lord. 3 While Joscelin remained suspicious of her motives, the two studied magic together under Merlin and at a convent. 3

After Uther's death, Morgan agreed to help raise Artoria. During Vortigern's assault on Camelot, Morgan demanded that Joscelin reveal the secrets he had hidden from her for nearly two decades.
