Background

Miwa began as a Kyoto Jujutsu High student without an innate cursed technique. She trained in New Shadow Style swordsmanship, but regarded herself as “Useless Miwa” beside more naturally gifted classmates. Her insecurity was intensified by Kokichi Muta’s betrayal and by her inability to cut even Kenjaku’s hand during the Shibuya Incident. 174

During Shibuya, Miwa placed a lifelong Binding Vow on herself: in exchange for putting everything into one Sword Draw, she would never wield a sword again. Kenjaku blocked the attack effortlessly, leaving her convinced that she had sacrificed her future as a swordswoman for nothing. 183 269

After Sukuna’s defeat in her original timeline, Miwa regretted only supporting the Shinjuku battle with Simple Domain rather than fighting directly. Her wish to return to the period before the battle and face Sukuna was heard by Jie Jian, whose cursed technique can fulfill wishes.
