Arc 7The Thunder Sorcerer’s Return

Jie Jian defeated Sukuna with his elemental techniques, and the Culling Game ended as the survivors dealt with the aftermath. After returning to his world and then visiting Jujutsu High again, Jie Jian accepted a new challenge that sent him back before the Shinjuku Showdown in Kasumi Miwa’s body.

  • Jie Jian revealed Vector Manipulation and fought Sukuna while Gojo’s Infinite Void repeatedly clashed with Malevolent Shrine, then took over the battle alone.
  • Jie Jian explained that his techniques depended on outside power, but revealed Undying Thunder and Elementalization, surviving Sukuna’s attacks and destroying Agito and Mahoraga.
  • Jie Jian opened Mighty Thunder Altar, but Sukuna destroyed it with Malevolent Shrine before Jie Jian used his elemental brain and Reverse Cursed Technique to recover.
  • Jie Jian shattered Sukuna’s domain and pierced his chest with lightning, while Gojo stopped Uraume and Yuta captured Kenjaku.
  • Yuji used five Black Flashes to separate Sukuna from Fushiguro, Sukuna and Uraume died, and Jujutsu High ended the Culling Game.
  • Jie Jian returned to his world, then came back to the Jujutsu world and rejoined Gojo and the others at Jujutsu High.
  • Kasumi Miwa dreamed she had defeated Kenjaku, Gojo, and Sukuna, then woke to discover she had returned to a month before the Shinjuku battle.
  • Jie Jian accepted a challenge as Kasumi Miwa, took control of her body, and alarmed her by announcing he would spend her money on pachinko.
Chapters 151–175 Vol. 2 Read

Ch. 151Have You Seen Me at My Peak?

Jie Jian overwhelmed Sukuna with a shockwave and a punch, then caught Sukuna’s slash and sent it back at him. Sukuna stayed standing, dismissed Uraume from the battlefield, and said he had figured out Jie Jian’s cursed technique.

  • Sukuna claimed Jie Jian had only blocked one slash while Sukuna was below his peak, and Jie Jian mocked his strength.
  • Uraume attacked Jie Jian with Ice Formation: Frost Calm, but Jie Jian’s shockwave shattered the glacier and devastated the street.
  • Sukuna threw Uraume aside and dodged the shockwave, but Jie Jian used wind to reach him and punched him through several buildings.
  • Jie Jian charged into Sukuna’s next slash, stopped it with his wrists, and reversed it toward Sukuna.
  • Sukuna countered with another slash, canceling both attacks, then told Uraume to leave and said he had identified Jie Jian’s cursed technique.

Ch. 152A Contest of Slashes!

Jie Jian revealed that his technique was Vector Manipulation, which let him control the direction of energy, and released the immense cursed energy he had been restricting. He challenged Sukuna to a contest of slashes, and Sukuna accepted, enraged by the challenge.

  • Jie Jian told Sukuna that Vector Manipulation let him control all energy, including Sukuna’s slashes.
  • Kasumi Miwa and Yuta Okkotsu discussed how Jie Jian’s technique could redirect nearly any attack, while Yuji Itadori wondered why Jie Jian had not acted sooner.
  • Sukuna revealed that he had only suspected Jie Jian could reflect energy attacks and had not expected him to control all energy.
  • Jie Jian said he did not need the cursed energy boost from Technique Disclosure and released his restriction, flooding the area with immense cursed energy.
  • Jie Jian challenged Sukuna to a contest of slashes, and Sukuna accepted, raising his fingers and promising to show him a true slash.

Ch. 153Do You Understand Jiahao?

Jie Jian’s air slash overpowered Sukuna’s slash and wounded him, shocking sorcerers watching the livestream and forcing Gojo to reconsider his planned ambush. Sukuna acknowledged Jie Jian as the strongest sorcerer he had faced, but Jie Jian dismissed the praise and said he had intended to cut off Sukuna’s head.

  • Jie Jian’s air blade cut through Sukuna’s slash and grazed Sukuna’s cheek, drawing blood.
  • Kasumi Miwa and Satoru Gojo watched in disbelief as Sukuna was wounded.
  • Gojo abandoned his original plan to fire a 200% Hollow Purple because Jie Jian had gained the upper hand against Sukuna.
  • Sukuna healed his wound with Reverse Cursed Technique, praised Jie Jian’s strength, and acknowledged him as the strongest sorcerer he had faced.
  • Jie Jian dismissed Sukuna’s praise and said that a shallow wound did not count as a hit because he had meant to cut off Sukuna’s head.

Ch. 154Holding It Together with Ease!

Sukuna realized Jie Jian was treating their fight like a role-playing game and abandoned the battle in frustration. Satoru Gojo then ambushed Sukuna with a 200% Hollow Purple and took over the battlefield.

  • Sukuna concluded that Jie Jian had been playing the challenger in a game where Sukuna was the boss, then asked for Jie Jian's name.
  • Jie Jian introduced himself as Jail Jie and complained that Sukuna had skipped the expected fight and dramatic defeat.
  • At Jujutsu High, Maki asked Fumihiko Takaba whether Jie Jian had always behaved that way, and Takaba said he had known him for only a month.
  • Sukuna lost interest in fighting Jie Jian and prepared to leave, but Satoru Gojo's 200% Hollow Purple struck him and charred his right arm.
  • Satoru Gojo appeared on the battlefield and told everyone to fall back while he took over.

Ch. 155Unable to Settle It with Words.JPG

Satoru Gojo arrived at the Shinjuku battlefield while Jie Jian was arguing with Sukuna, and their dispute over who should leave gave Sukuna the chance to prepare a Domain Expansion. The chapter ended with Sukuna and Gojo activating their domains as Jie Jian awkwardly attempted Hollow Wicker Basket.

  • Satoru Gojo appeared on the battlefield, and Jie Jian complained that he had interrupted his fight with Sukuna.
  • Sukuna healed his right hand and told Gojo to remove Jie Jian, but Jie Jian and Gojo argued over who should leave.
  • Kasumi Miwa realized she felt less excited about Gojo because his entrance had seemed like a sneak attack compared with Jie Jian's.
  • Sukuna lost patience with their argument and began building up cursed energy for a Domain Expansion.
  • Mei Mei broadcast Sukuna forming Malevolent Shrine and Gojo forming Infinite Void as Jie Jian attempted Hollow Wicker Basket.

Ch. 156On the Range of Sukuna's Domain Slashes

Jie Jian used Hollow Wicker Basket instead of opening a domain, while Sukuna's Open Domain shattered Gojo's Infinite Void and slashed him. Gojo recovered from Cursed Technique Burnout and blocked the attacks, leaving Jie Jian to ask whether Sukuna's slashes had cut off Gojo's balls.

  • At Jujutsu High, Kusakabe rejected Miwa's suggestion that Jie Jian could not use Domain Expansion, while Maki noticed Takaba had disappeared.
  • Choso recognized Sukuna's domain as an Open Domain, and Kusakabe confirmed that only Gojo's domain shell had formed.
  • Sukuna's Malevolent Shrine shattered Gojo's Infinite Void from the outside, leaving Gojo in Cursed Technique Burnout and badly wounded by slashes.
  • Sukuna's slashes could not harm Jie Jian because Hollow Wicker Basket neutralized the domain's Guaranteed Hit and Jie Jian's Reflection shield deflected the attacks.
  • Gojo quickly ended his Cursed Technique Burnout and blocked Sukuna's slashes, then Jie Jian asked whether the attacks had cut off his balls.

Ch. 157Starting Over!

Jie Jian’s awkward questions briefly interrupted the battle before Sukuna reminded him and Satoru Gojo that they were still inside Malevolent Shrine. Satoru Gojo opened Infinite Void again with its barrier conditions reversed, while Fumihiko Takaba arrived at Lake Gosho Barrier and could not find Kenjaku.

  • Jie Jian asked Satoru Gojo what happened to the old one after he used Reverse Cursed Technique to grow a new one, and Satoru Gojo angrily told him to shut up.
  • Sukuna refocused on the fight and warned Jie Jian and Satoru Gojo that they were still inside Malevolent Shrine, where he had the advantage.
  • Satoru Gojo recognized that Jie Jian knew Sukuna's Domain was open and announced that he would handle it by expanding Infinite Void again.
  • Satoru Gojo swapped the internal and external conditions of Infinite Void, making its outer barrier sturdier against Malevolent Shrine's attacks.
  • Fumihiko Takaba reached Lake Gosho Barrier and complained that Okkotsu had not told him where to find Kenjaku.

Ch. 158Tap, Tap, Tap Tap Tap!

Takaba headed toward Kenjaku while questioning whether he could help defeat him, as Satoru Gojo’s domain failed to affect Sukuna because Sukuna stayed in contact with him. After Sukuna destroyed Gojo’s domain again, Jie Jian interrupted his next attack and stepped in to fight.

  • Takaba walked through Iwate Prefecture, remembered Okkotsu’s request to confront Kenjaku, and doubted his ability to help.
  • Satoru Gojo struggled to understand why Sukuna remained unaffected by Infinite Void during their domain clash.
  • Jie Jian realized Sukuna avoided Infinite Void by staying in contact with Gojo and chose not to interfere.
  • Gojo discovered Sukuna’s tactic, but Sukuna destroyed his domain again after completing his preparations.
  • As Sukuna prepared to activate Malevolent Shrine, Jie Jian disrupted him with an artificial slash and announced that it was his turn to fight.

Ch. 159I Don't Even Know Megumi Fushiguro

Jie Jian interrupted the battle between Satoru Gojo and Sukuna, then revealed that Gojo's domain could harm Megumi Fushiguro and help Mahoraga adapt. As Gojo hesitated over Fushiguro's safety, Jie Jian offered to face Sukuna himself, admitting he did not care whether Fushiguro got hurt.

  • Jie Jian stepped between Sukuna and Satoru Gojo, joking that he expected his turn once Gojo died, while Gojo and Sukuna argued with him.
  • Sukuna attacked both men with Malevolent Shrine, and Jie Jian used Hollow Wicker Basket as Gojo defended himself with Falling Blossom Emotion.
  • Gojo's Cursed Technique Burnout healed, but Jie Jian warned him that expanding Infinite Void again would burden Megumi Fushiguro's soul.
  • Jie Jian revealed Sukuna had been secretly adapting Mahoraga to Infinite Void, which could let Mahoraga shatter Gojo's domain and give Sukuna a slash that cut through Limitless.
  • Sukuna taunted Gojo over the danger to Fushiguro, and Jie Jian offered to handle Sukuna before admitting he did not know or care about Megumi Fushiguro.

Ch. 160Still Holding the Core

Jie Jian took over the fight against Sukuna after Satoru Gojo withdrew, despite being unable to use Domain Expansion. When Jie Jian revealed he had adapted to Malevolent Shrine, Sukuna’s domain slashes no longer harmed him.

  • Jie Jian admitted he had made up an excuse to step forward and fight Sukuna, and told Satoru Gojo he could not use Domain Expansion with Vector Manipulation.
  • Satoru Gojo left the battlefield, and Jie Jian defended himself from Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine with Hollow Wicker Basket and his protective barrier.
  • Sukuna’s slashes cracked Hollow Wicker Basket, and the observers at Jujutsu High feared Jie Jian would be hit by the domain’s Guaranteed Hit effect if it broke.
  • Jie Jian voluntarily dispelled Hollow Wicker Basket, but Sukuna’s Guaranteed Hit slashes inexplicably failed to injure him.
  • Jie Jian told Sukuna he had adapted to Malevolent Shrine and claimed Sukuna had lost by failing to kill him immediately.

Ch. 161Oh My God, the Box!

Jie Jian and Sukuna continued their battle as the Jujutsu High sorcerers pieced together clues that Jie Jian had a second Cursed Technique and might be an Ancient Sorcerer. Sukuna asked if Jie Jian was from another world, and Jie Jian’s startled response convinced Sukuna that he was an Ancient Sorcerer brought back through Incarnation.

  • Sukuna used Domain Amplification to attack Jie Jian directly, but Jie Jian met his blow with a laugh.
  • Yuji Itadori, Kusakabe, Mei Mei, and Okkotsu discussed how Jie Jian could adapt to Sukuna’s domain and suspected he had a second Cursed Technique.
  • Mei Mei revealed that she could find no records connected to Jie Jian’s face, while Angel confirmed that she had seen him use a technique besides Vector Manipulation.
  • Hajime Kashimo explained that an Ancient Sorcerer revived through Incarnation could regain their original appearance, leading the group to suspect Jie Jian had been brought back by Kenjaku.
  • After fighting Jie Jian, Sukuna suspected that he was an Ancient Sorcerer and asked if he was from another world.
  • Jie Jian blurted out, “Oh My God, the box!”, and Sukuna took his reaction as confirmation that he was an Ancient Sorcerer brought back through Incarnation.

Ch. 162Gradually Understanding Everything

Jie Jian pretended to be an ancient sorcerer and revealed that Vector Manipulation was only his second cursed technique, enraging Sukuna. Elsewhere, Kenjaku encountered Takaba, whose strange power left him unharmed, while Sukuna began to realize how Jie Jian was nullifying his slashes.

  • Jie Jian claimed he was an ancient sorcerer reincarnated through a cursed object, and Kasumi Miwa asked about his true identity.
  • Sukuna learned that Vector Manipulation was Jie Jian's second cursed technique and demanded to know why Jie Jian had not used his first.
  • Jie Jian said his first technique felt too easy to use, and Sukuna charged at him in anger.
  • In Iwate Prefecture, Kenjaku attacked Fumihiko Takaba with cursed spirits, but Takaba emerged unharmed and scolded him for throwing garbage.
  • On the Shinjuku battlefield, Sukuna struck Jie Jian with a slash through his broken barrier, but the attack disappeared into Jie Jian without injuring him.
  • Sukuna realized how Jie Jian was nullifying his slashes and told him he had figured it out.

Ch. 163We're Growing Apart, Brother

Sukuna realized Jie Jian neutralized his domain by controlling cursed energy inside his body, but he relied on Mahoraga to adapt to Vector Manipulation. Just as Jujutsu High believed Jie Jian had won, a slash injured him and his extraordinary computational ability disappeared; the story then shifted to Kenjaku questioning Takaba about his cursed technique.

  • Sukuna figured out that Jie Jian interrupted cursed energy before it transformed into the domain’s slashes, and Jie Jian taunted him to admit defeat.
  • Sukuna planned to stall until Mahoraga adapted to Vector Manipulation and helped him develop a Spatial Slash.
  • At Jujutsu High, Okkotsu and Higuruma explained Jie Jian’s defense, and Kusakabe predicted Sukuna would lose.
  • A slash cut Jie Jian’s face, and he discovered that his powerful computational ability had vanished.
  • In Iwate Prefecture, Kenjaku questioned Takaba after his attacks failed, and Takaba introduced himself as a comedian who had only passed the first round of the National Comedy Contest.
  • Takaba wondered whether his imagined partner Jie Jian had beaten Sukuna.

Ch. 164I'm Weaker, That Doesn't Mean You're Stronger!

Kenjaku manipulated Takaba into doubting his connection with Jie Jian, while Jie Jian’s enhanced processing power vanished during his battle with Sukuna. Sukuna identified the loss and mocked Jie Jian, who still challenged him despite his weakened abilities.

  • Kenjaku showed Takaba Mei Mei’s livestream and questioned whether Takaba truly understood his supposed partner, Jie Jian.
  • Kenjaku told Takaba that Jie Jian had never considered him a real partner, leaving Takaba to wonder if he really was a failure.
  • Jie Jian found that he could no longer control Vector Manipulation properly, and Sukuna’s domain inflicted slashes across his body.
  • Jie Jian used Hollow Wicker Basket to counter Malevolent Shrine’s guaranteed hit and Reverse Cursed Technique to heal himself.
  • Sukuna deduced that Jie Jian’s technique depended on enhanced computational ability, while Angel and Okkotsu connected its disappearance to Takaba’s confrontation with Kenjaku.
  • Jie Jian admitted his technique relied on outside power but laughed that his weakening did not mean Sukuna had grown stronger.

Ch. 165Victory Can Truly Be Declared!

Jie Jian survived Sukuna’s instant Dimensional Slash by revealing his first cursed technique, Undying Thunder, which let him turn his body into lightning and evade physical attacks. With Sukuna’s slashes unable to seriously harm him, the observers at Jujutsu High believed Jie Jian had secured victory.

  • Sukuna used a Binding Vow to unleash an instant Dimensional Slash that cut Jie Jian in half.
  • Jie Jian regenerated from blue-violet light and electricity, revealing that he had survived the attack.
  • Sukuna activated Malevolent Shrine and covered Jie Jian with countless slashes, but the attacks caused no lasting damage.
  • Jie Jian transformed into lightning, slipped through Sukuna’s slash, and kicked him into a pile of ruins.
  • Jie Jian explained that his Undying Thunder technique made physical attacks ineffective against him.
  • Yuji Itadori and the others at Jujutsu High concluded that Jie Jian had won.

Ch. 166How Dare You Try to Measure Me?

Sukuna tried to test Jie Jian’s Undying Thunder with physical attacks, but Jie Jian’s lightning body let him evade every blow and injure Sukuna. As Sukuna launched Furnace: Open, Jie Jian formed a powerful Lightning Cannon, and both attacks were unleashed toward the end of the chapter.

  • Sukuna attacked Jie Jian with Domain Amplification, but Jie Jian transformed his chest and brain into lightning to let the blows pass through.
  • Jie Jian grabbed Sukuna’s wrist and sent electricity through his arm, forcing Sukuna to sever it before retreating and restoring it with Reverse Cursed Technique.
  • Jie Jian taunted Sukuna and claimed they were fundamentally different beings, then Sukuna formed a flaming bow and prepared a Flame Arrow.
  • At Jujutsu High, Yuji Itadori recognized Sukuna’s Furnace: Open, while the watching sorcerers reacted to Jie Jian’s immense lightning cursed energy.
  • Jie Jian gathered a Lightning Cannon at his fingertip as Sukuna fired his Flame Arrow, turning the Shinjuku battlefield into an inferno.

Ch. 167The Original Body Activated!

  • Jie Jian struck Mahoraga with lightning, but it rapidly regenerated as Sukuna attacked from behind.
  • Sukuna warned that Mahoraga could not be killed because of its super-speed regeneration, and Jie Jian said he would finish it off first.

Ch. 168Did Jie Jian Win Again?

Jie Jian unleashed Thunder Breath in his original form, destroying Agito and Mahoraga and critically injuring Sukuna. Jujutsu High declared Jie Jian the winner, while Sukuna remained standing in the ruins and faced Jie Jian's taunt.

  • Sukuna ordered Agito and Mahoraga to stop Jie Jian as they attacked him from both sides.
  • Jie Jian charged and unleashed Thunder Breath, carving a massive trench through Shinjuku and reducing Agito and Mahoraga to ashes.
  • Sukuna survived by protecting himself but lost more than half his body, while Jie Jian healed his minor burns with Reverse Cursed Technique.
  • Kusakabe announced that Jie Jian had won, and the Jujutsu High group wondered who he was and compared him with Hajime Kashimo.
  • Sukuna stared at Jie Jian in disbelief as Jie Jian taunted him about the limits of super-speed regeneration.

Ch. 169Let Me See!

Jie Jian overwhelmed Sukuna with his lightning Elementalization after killing Mahoraga, leaving Sukuna unable to land effective attacks. Sukuna asked to see Jie Jian’s Domain Expansion, then used the moment to open Malevolent Shrine and shatter Jie Jian’s newly formed Domain.

  • Jie Jian and Sukuna resumed their fight, but Sukuna’s slashes and Domain Amplification could not effectively harm Jie Jian while he was elementalized.

Ch. 170What Do You Mean You Can't Do Cursed Technique Burnout?

Sukuna destroyed Jie Jian’s domain to force him into Cursed Technique Burnout, then attacked with Malevolent Shrine. Jie Jian survived by revealing that he had used Reverse Cursed Technique to regenerate his Elementalized brain, leaving Sukuna stunned and the Jujutsu High sorcerers understanding his method.

  • Sukuna tricked Jie Jian into opening his domain and destroyed it with Malevolent Shrine.
  • Sukuna attacked Jie Jian with Malevolent Shrine, but Jie Jian’s severed body revealed blue-violet currents instead of blood.
  • Jie Jian reassembled himself and demonstrated how his brain could become electricity and then reform.
  • Jie Jian explained that his cursed technique turned flesh into elements, while Reverse Cursed Technique restored the elements to flesh.
  • Hiromi Higuruma realized Jie Jian had Elementalized his brain before his domain collapsed, and Shoko explained that regenerating it cleared the strain that caused Cursed Technique Burnout.

Ch. 171Really Is the End!

Jie Jian overwhelmed Sukuna in the Shinjuku battlefield, surviving his escalating attacks without injury. Sukuna’s final lightning clash ended with Jie Jian killing him, leaving the battlefield silent.
