Unlike human Spirit Masters, in the world of Soul Beasts, a Soul Beast evolved into a Ferocious Beast after its cultivation surpassed a hundred thousand years. Yet Ferocious Beasts were not eternal or indestructible. Every hundred thousand years, they had to face a Great Heavenly Tribulation.
The Heavenly Tribulation possessed vast, boundless might. If a Ferocious Beast could withstand it, it could continue living for another hundred thousand years.
For Soul Beasts, their so-called age was actually linked to their strength. Generally speaking, it did not mean they had truly lived that many years, but rather reflected the growth of their cultivation and bodies.
Take the evil eye demon tree, the Myriad Demon King, for example. Although he possessed several hundred thousand years of cultivation, that did not mean he had actually lived for hundreds of thousands of years. Of course, compared with a human's mere hundred-year lifespan, that was still an astronomical figure.
As many Ferocious Beasts grew, they repeatedly endured Heavenly Tribulations. Throughout their continual growth and evolution, their bodies inevitably began to age, and the day their lifespans ended would eventually come.
On the other hand, the million-year mark was a great barrier for all Ferocious Beasts, as well as a restriction the Douluo World's world consciousness imposed on the Soul Beast race.
Throughout Soul Beast history, those who had reached this level of cultivation were, without exception, not the strongest in the Soul Beast world. They usually only managed it with tremendous outside assistance.
Yet once they reached a million years of cultivation, they had a tremendous chance of becoming gods and extending their
