The lake lay deep beneath the bright moon, flowers swaying with smiling grace. Fragrance spread as frogs sang, a fairy's zither haunted souls and dreams. Fireflies glittered upon the lake, dancing tree shadows played with clear silhouettes. Lotus melodies rang over emerald ripples, drawing you through gardens of pure blossoms.
The Lake of Life was tranquil at night, the moon and stars silently woven into its painted scroll. Beneath the bright moon, the earth became painting after painting. Shadows of trees, grass, mountains, and villages resembled galloping horses, prowling beasts, soaring birds, and monsters. Each shadow formed a picture of its own, yet all blended into one vast, ever-changing painting. Standing beneath the moon felt like standing within it.
Shimmering ripples stirred across the lake at night, reflecting the moonlight. Its glow fell upon the finely rippled surface like a scattering of sparkling silver, or green satin crumpled into folds.
A woman dressed in white stood upon the lake, the Silver Dragon Spear on her back. She faced the wind, her robes drifting gently.
Her snow-white skin looked almost pale beneath the moon's clear radiance. She was a woman of breathtaking beauty.
Was it because of her that the night and moonlight were so serenely beautiful and bright? Standing upon the lake, her white robes outshone snow beneath the moon, a faint silver halo encircling her.
Her reflection in the water was dreamlike, beautiful enough to inspire endless wonder. She moved with the wind, walking across the water as though it were level ground.
White robes fluttered, black hair cascaded like a waterfall, yet she remained utterly composed. Supple as a swimming dragon, swift as a startled swan, she seemed an immortal descending from the nine heavens. Fragments of reflected starlight splashed up from the lake, surrounding her.
