Background / History
Artemis is the Greek Moon Goddess and a member of the Olympian pantheon. Her original Machine God body was a sniper-type interstellar warship, and the bow-and-arrow Authority perceived by humans is effectively starship-grade particle-cannon bombardment. She remembers the conflict with Sephar and recognizes Mephistopheles's Star Sword imitation as related to the weapon that once destroyed it. 7 16
She first approaches Mephistopheles and Medea while disguised as the mortal hunter Diana. Drawn out of the forest by the smell of food, she accepts Mephistopheles's invitation to eat with them and becomes curious about the stranger who treats the Star Sword as cooking magic. Her original purpose is to observe Mephistopheles, an otherworldly arrival who had appeared in Greece half a year earlier. 6 7
Appearance
Artemis usually presents herself as a youthful, gentle-looking girl, allowing her to pass as the wandering archer Diana. Her true-body descent retains her divine presence but makes the surrounding world react to her Authority. 6 145 149
- Silver hair that can shine with moonlight. 146 150
- Simple animal-fur clothing and a white longbow while using her Diana identity. 6
- A moonlight battle armor that can deconstruct into rotating, golden-ratio gears during her Shakti transformation. 147
- Her unleashed true-body presence can produce earthquakes, darken the sky, and invoke Zeus-associated lightning phenomena. 149
Personality
Artemis is playful, curious, and fond of pretending to be an ordinary person. She eagerly joins Mephistopheles and Medea's travels, enjoys grilled food, and repeatedly calls the Star Sword “cooking magic” despite understanding its destructive significance. 7 9
Her early interest in human emotions is initially observational, but her confinement with Mephistopheles makes her experience affection, passion, jealousy, and attachment personally for the first time. She becomes direct about her feelings and openly possessive of her place beside him, while ultimately accepting his relationship with Medea. 19 20
Despite her carefree behavior, Artemis is a vigilant protector. She warns Mephistopheles against reckless fights, trains Medea through controlled combat, worries over Atalanta's dangerous future, and immediately suppresses her Authority when she realizes it is harming the world. 14 16 24 146
Abilities & Skills
Moon Goddess Authority
Artemis controls moon-related divine power and can create or alter lunar phenomena.
- Created a moon and vegetation inside Typhon's sealed space after Mephistopheles asked her to make it less empty. 18
- Shifted the moon into a black-moon phase to serve as the lunar yin medium for the Primordial Shakti summoning ritual. 147
- Her true body's lunar influence slowed Earth's rotation by 0.3 seconds until she withdrew both her power and the concept of the Moon Goddess. 146
- Must restrain this Authority carefully; even the Age of Gods world risks assimilation if she relaxes her control. 149
Divine Archery and Hunting
Her bow embodies both her hunting Authority and her former warship nature.
- Fires arrows as silver meteors capable of producing enormous craters. 9
- Uses precise shots to distract Gigantes for Heracles and pin Typhon's Dreadnought dragons to the ground for Medea's bombardment. 9 16
- Her attacks combine magical effects with physical destructive force comparable to particle-cannon fire. 16
- Granted Mephistopheles an Authority to see through all things and never miss his mark, derived from her own hunting and sniper abilities. 12
- Typhon successfully reverse-engineered this attack method and stole her bow-based Authority, temporarily preventing her from using her normal strength. 16
Divine Creation and Destruction
After her Shakti transformation, Artemis gains access to Authorities far beyond her original lunar domain.
- Her evolved Divine Core incorporates creation, preservation, and destruction principles associated with the Trimurti. 147
- Forms a World Cocoon and repeats cycles of creation and destruction within it to stabilize her higher-order divinity. 148
- Fires a rainbow-colored arrow carrying creation and destructive forces across time and space, shattering Goetia's Future Sight and injuring him. 148
- Scatters divine fruits that create magical beasts and can grant moon, lightning, creation, destruction, longevity, and magical enhancement effects. 151
Divine Perception and Knowledge
- Recognizes divine identities, mythological threats, and abnormalities in Heracles's behavior, helping Medea investigate his waking madness. 8
- Shares ancient information about Typhon's imprisonment beneath Mount Etna, allowing Mephistopheles to confirm its location. 16
- Identifies Servants and mythological figures from her own era, including Hector and Ishtar. 104 152
Armament
- Moon bow and arrows — Her principal weapon; manifests her hunting, battle, and former starship Authority. 9 16
- Moonlight battle armor — A transformed divine armament that reconfigures itself during her Shakti-infused evolution. 147
Relationships
- Mephistopheles — Lover and closest companion. Artemis initially investigates him in disguise, travels with him through Greece, follows him into Typhon's prison, and becomes his partner after their time within the sealed space. 7 17 19
- Medea — Friend, traveling companion, and romantic counterpart through their mutual relationship with Mephistopheles. Artemis trains Medea's Temple construction and later receives Medea's acceptance of her relationship with him. 14 20
- Apollo — Brother. Apollo assists Medea during the Typhon aftermath and deliberately keeps her occupied so Artemis and Mephistopheles can spend time together. 18 19
- Heracles — Sibling and battlefield ally. Artemis joins him during the War of the Giants and assists his attacks by drawing enemy attention. 8 9
- Atalanta — Devout follower whom Artemis helped raise through a mother bear after her abandonment. Artemis worries about Atalanta's future, authorizes her magical training under Mephistopheles, and pays for it on her behalf. 21 24 26 27
- Typhon — Ancient Machine God enemy. Typhon steals Artemis's bow Authority, but she remains beside Mephistopheles during his battle against it. 16 17
- Goetia — Indirect enemy after her evolved Authority disrupts his Future Sight and wounds him across time and space. 148
