Background / History

Chen Qingyuan led the Flying Eagle Sect in answering Guangwu County's magistrate after wolf demons occupied Upper Pan Village. His sect had already lost seven or eight skilled men, and he had been forced to consider returning to the county seat for help. When he encountered Jiang Yuechu in a Demon Suppression Office uniform, he urgently pleaded for her intervention, going so far as to kneel. 3

On the journey to Upper Pan Village, he briefed Jiang Yuechu on the demon pack and its leader, the Azure-Faced Lord. He had personally fought the leader and wounded it beneath the ribs, but could not defeat it; two of the sect's best swordsmen had been killed in a single exchange. 4
