Background

In Tang Wulin's original future, Xie Xie sacrificed himself during the final catastrophe. Tang recalls watching him become a blade of light and disappear into the energy currents while covering the others' retreat. 1 3

When Tang Wulin returns to youthful Shrek Academy, Xie Xie is alive and still untouched by the future tragedy. He mistakes Tang and Gu Yue for intruders, attacks with his Light Dragon Dagger and Shadow Dragon Dagger, and objects to Gu Yue being brought into the academy. Tang proves his identity through the soul-power bond formed by their years of cultivation and battle together. 3
