Background

Xu Xiaoyan was found peacefully cultivating beneath the trees at Shrek Academy when Tang Wulin returned from the future to reunite the Shrek Seven Monsters. His return stirred memories of their former battles and of the future in which she exhausted her power protecting the others and dissolved into starlight. Alive in this altered past, Xiaoyan pledged to follow him and protect everyone with her starlight. 4

She joined the newly reassembled Shrek Seven Monsters as their control specialist. During their first team assessment, she restrained Berserk Flame Wolves with starlight chains while the team defended a signal device for thirty minutes; the squad earned a perfect score and formally embraced the Seven Monsters name. 8
