Appearance
Gu Yue’s natural appearance is defined by silver hair and violet-purple eyes, traits associated with her Silver Dragon King identity. At Eastsea Academy, she maintains a public appearance with black hair and black eyes to support her false identity. 4 25
- Silver hair, sometimes showing a faint glow at the ends. 25
- Violet or purple eyes in her undisguised state. 4
- Black hair and black eyes while attending Eastsea Academy. 25
- Carries herself with a controlled, cold, and formal demeanor even in ordinary settings. 9 25
Personality
Gu Yue is initially proud, restrained, and deeply suspicious of forces she cannot understand. After awakening, she questions Di Tian’s uncertain information about Lu Menge and reacts sharply when Lu calls her “cousin.” Lu Menge’s effortless superiority forces Gu Yue to acknowledge the limits of both her knowledge and her power. 1 4
She is highly analytical in battle and in daily life. Gu Yue identifies weaknesses in opponents’ martial souls, develops precise tactical plans, and evaluates emotional behavior with the same detached thoroughness she applies to combat. Her observations helped expose Lu Menge’s feelings for Wu Changkong and later guided Tang Wulin’s battlefield techniques. 18 27 28
Despite her usual emotional distance, Gu Yue becomes openly affectionate and dependent around Lu Menge, whom she treats as an elder sister and guardian. Her bond with Tang Wulin gradually teaches her to accept that she can be both the Silver Dragon King and an individual named Gu Yue. 30 44 47
Her compassion remains central to her identity as a soul-beast ruler. Although she accepts that she must obtain a genuine sixth Soul Ring, she refuses to kill the wounded Silver-Armored Dragon Beast and instead accepts its willing transfer of life force. 68 69

Story Role and Major Arcs
Awakening and Departure from the Star Dou Great Forest
Gu Yue awakens in the core region of the Star Dou Great Forest as the Silver Dragon King’s incarnation, with Di Tian awaiting her recovery and serving her as his lord. After hearing rumors of the Nine-Headed White Tiger, she orders Di Tian to search for Lu Menge despite the lack of proof that Lu is alive. 1
Lu Menge reaches Gu Yue before Di Tian can find her. Unable to sense Lu through divine consciousness and outmatched when her attack is neutralized, Gu Yue learns that Lu is an existence older than the Dragon God. Lu reveals that the Golden Dragon King has already been found among humans and invites Gu Yue to enter the human world. 4
Gu Yue initially hesitates at Eastsea Academy’s gate because entering human society means abandoning the isolation of the forest. She ultimately follows Lu Menge inside and begins her life as a student. 5
Eastsea Academy and Class Zero
At Eastsea Academy, Gu Yue adopts the public identity of a Rainbow Dragon and Elemental Envoy soul master. She and Tang Wulin enter as four-ring Soul Ancestors, while Lu Menge warns them that revealing their true Dragon King identities could attract the God Realm’s attention. 25
Gu Yue becomes Tang Wulin’s closest combat partner. She often declines to fight weaker classmates herself, instead observing his battles, correcting his techniques, and controlling the battlefield from range when necessary. 28 32
Under Lu Menge and Wu Changkong’s dual instruction, Gu Yue learns to rely on Class Zero as a complete team rather than treating Tang Wulin as her only dependable partner. She develops Water Mirror into a versatile control technique capable of disrupting formations, concealing attacks, and manipulating the battlefield. 46 57 61
Relationship with Tang Wulin
Gu Yue’s connection with Tang Wulin is rooted in their status as the divided Silver and Golden Dragon King legacies. Before he understands her feelings, she uses her Silver Dragon King Origin to create a protective buffer around the Golden Dragon King remnant in his sea of consciousness. 23 24
Encouraged by Lu Menge, Gu Yue begins spending time in Tang Wulin’s forging room and expresses affection through practical help, brief touches, and praise for the weapons he makes for her. Tang Wulin responds by forging her an Ice Spear component decorated with intertwined golden and silver dragons. 35 36
At the back mountain, Gu Yue asks Tang Wulin what she is to him. Their conversation establishes that he instinctively seeks her presence in battle and will come whenever she calls. They create a private three-tap signal to confirm that they are there for one another. 37
After the Darkgolden Terrorclaw Bear reacts to her as something monstrous, Tang Wulin reassures her that she is “Gu Yue,” his partner, rather than merely the Silver Dragon King. His acceptance helps her reconcile her inherited nature with her individual identity. 44
Return to the Lake of Life
Gu Yue returns to the Star Dou Great Forest to investigate disturbances around the Lake of Life. Although she frames the trip as official business, she is uneasy about facing her past alone; Lu Menge persuades her to let Tang Wulin accompany her. 47
At the Lake of Life, Di Tian continues to kneel before Gu Yue as his lord, while she tries to soften their formal relationship. Tang Wulin earns Di Tian’s respect by bringing handcrafted tea knives, and Di Tian later entrusts Gu Yue’s future to him. 48 49
Gu Yue brings Tang Wulin into the Stone Palace where she slept for tens of thousands of years. Together, they play the Dragon God’s Qin, symbolically reuniting the Golden and Silver Dragon King halves through music rather than divine power. 50
Soul Emperor Breakthrough and Shrek Enrollment
Gu Yue accepts Lu Menge’s demand that she obtain a real sixth Soul Ring through practical hunting rather than continued reliance on her Silver Dragon King Origin. In Silent Valley, she meets the wounded Silver-Armored Dragon Beast and receives its Soul Ring through a voluntary transfer rather than killing it. 68 69
After reaching Soul Emperor, Gu Yue and Tang Wulin outgrow Eastsea Academy’s available resources and opponents. Although reluctant to leave the life she built there, Gu Yue agrees to attend Shrek Academy when Tang Wulin promises that they will go together. 71
At Shrek, she is referred to as Gu Yuena and enters the Outer Court with Class Zero. During the entrance examination, she controls water and ice to support Xu Xiaoyan, and Sea God Pavilion grants the group direct enrollment subject to a freshman assessment. 81 82
