The Adventurers' Guild headquarters in Milishion, capital of the Millis Holy Country.
Cui Ciyou solemnly handed the three parchment letters to the purple-haired receptionist at the Adventurers' Guild.
She wore an impeccable, professional smile.
Her slender fingers deftly took the letters and checked their addresses and wax seals with practiced ease.
"Of course, Lord Ciyou."
"Three letters: one to Roxy in Ars, the Asla Royal Capital; one to Sauros at the mayor's residence in Roa City, Fitoia Territory; and one to Paul and Rorze at the Adventurers' Guild in Milbotz Territory."
After confirming everything, she raised her alluring eyes and quoted the price with a smile. "Express intercontinental delivery will be three silver coins."
"Three silver coins?"
Before Cui Ciyou could speak, Keith let out a squawk beside him, his monkey-like face twisting with anguish.
"That's robbery! We're only sending three letters! Three Millis silver coins!"
"At Demon Continent prices, that would pay us to hunt down a tough, thick-skinned intermediate monster. Prices in Millis are ridiculous!"
Resigned, Cui Ciyou counted three gleaming silver coins out of his purse, his heart aching as well.
Oh well. Money spent will find its way back.
He watched the clerk stamp the letters and put them away safely. The satisfaction of having sent them eased the sting of spending the money.
With the first major matter settled, the more pressing second item came onto the agenda: making money.
"Come on. Let's see what quests suit us."
Cui Ciyou led the group toward the enormous quest board, polished from a single slab of obsidian.
Unlike the chaotic, rough-and-ready guilds on the Demon Continent, this board was meticulously organized. Requests were arranged by rank from top to bottom, clearly marked in different colors of ink for easy reading.
"Wow! Look! Ciyou! That... that gold one!"
