Background

Kaguya came from another world to gather Natural Energy and cultivate the Divine Tree. Chakra originated from the Divine Tree, making her the Ninja World’s ancestral source of chakra. 58 166

She arrived alongside Ōtsutsuki Isshiki, later ambushed him, fed half of his body to the Ten-Tails, and consumed the Chakra Fruit herself. She subsequently created Hagoromo and Hamura to continue her lineage and help face the pursuing Ōtsutsuki Clan. 222 233

After casting Infinite Tsukuyomi, Kaguya controlled the world’s population and treated the Ninja World as her personal “nursery.” She later released part of humanity and ruled the world directly. Her sons ultimately turned against her and sealed her on the moon. 58 116 233

Before her sealing, Kaguya separated Black Zetsu from herself as a form of Karma. Black Zetsu’s later schemes were intended not merely to break the seal, but to enable Kaguya’s reincarnation. 243
