Background & Story Role

Ning Rongrong first accompanies Chen Xin in the Star Dou Great Forest, where they encounter Chen Qingling. She initially feels excluded when Chen Xin accepts Qingling as his disciple, complaining that “Sword Grandpa” is playing favorites. She nevertheless helps Qingling obtain her First Soul Ring and introduces her own support-type martial soul. 2 3

After bringing Qingling to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, Rongrong becomes her guide and closest companion there. Her considerate treatment of Qingling—including lending her clothes and later giving her a White Jadeite Hairpin—marks a sharp change from her former reputation as a spoiled and willful “Little Devil Girl.” 5 7 8

When Qingling chooses to leave the sect to search for her mother, Rongrong gives her a Black Card containing five million Gold Soul Coins, despite it being all of Rongrong’s personal savings. She presents it as a small amount so Qingling will accept it. 11

Rongrong reunites with Qingling during Winter Vacation and joins the expedition to the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well.
