Background
Tang Hao lived in hiding near Nuoding City, secretly watching over his son, Tang San. He also concealed A Yin’s true body and her hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor right leg soul bone in a cave behind a waterfall near Holy Soul Village. Gu En located the cave first, took the soul bone, and uprooted A Yin for transplantation to the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well. 18 19
Before the confrontation at Nuoding Academy, Tang Hao was already carrying old injuries from past conflicts with Spirit Hall. Though he remained a Rank 95 Titled Douluo, those injuries left him unable to confront Sword Douluo Chen Xin, Bone Douluo Gu Rong, and Poison Douluo Dugu Bo together. 20 22
Appearance
During the Nuoding City incident, Tang Hao appeared as a broad, disheveled man in ragged black robes who smelled of alcohol. Despite his worn appearance, his tiger-like eyes retained an imposing and domineering presence. 20 21
- Missing his left arm after the battle at Nuoding Academy 24
- Later appears bloodstained, unconscious, and severely weakened while being carried to Moon Pavilion by Tang San 27 28
- His injuries leave him pale, emaciated, and near death during his recovery 28 29
Personality
Tang Hao is fiercely protective of Tang San. Although he initially refuses Gu En’s demand for the Clear Sky Sect’s secret techniques, he abandons that resolve when Tang San is being strangled and detonates his soul rings to save him. 23
His loyalty to the Clear Sky Sect’s inheritance remains deeply ingrained even after his expulsion. He considers the Grand Sumeru Hammer too important to surrender, but paternal instinct ultimately overrides that loyalty. 23
Tang Hao is also secretive and emotionally burdened. He hid his identity, strength, A Yin’s true body, and the Blue Silver Emperor soul bone from Tang San for years. After his defeat, he becomes consumed by fear that Gu En’s seemingly impossible knowledge will uncover every secret he left behind. 20 37

Grand Sumeru Hammer and Ring Detonation
Tang Hao possesses the Clear Sky Sect’s Grand Sumeru Hammer and Ring Detonation secret techniques.

- Detonated all remaining rings, including his hundred-thousand-year ring, to resist a coordinated killing strike 24
- The technique consumed his vitality, ruined his already damaged meridians, and contributed directly to his crippling 24 29
Story Role / Major Arcs
Nuoding City confrontation
Tang Hao secretly observes Gu En confronting Tang San and Xiao Wu, but remains hidden after sensing Chen Xin, Gu Rong, and Dugu Bo nearby. He finally intervenes when Gu En overwhelms Tang San, attacking Gu En with the force of a Titled Douluo before Gu Rong blocks him. 20 21
Gu Rong, Chen Xin, and Dugu Bo surround Tang Hao and expose Xiao Wu as a hundred-thousand-year transformed soul beast. As Xiao Wu becomes frightened of Tang San and Tang Hao’s hidden identities, Tang Hao is restrained and unable to protect either of them. 22
Defeat and escape
Gu En uses Tang San’s life to force Tang Hao into desperation. Tang Hao detonates six rings, breaks free, and launches a suicidal assault, only for Gu En and the three Titled Douluo to evade through the Vast Sea Cosmic Shroud’s concealment. 23
Gu En then immobilizes Tang Hao with Vast Sea Cosmic Anchor for a brief instant. Chen Xin, Gu Rong, and Dugu Bo use that opening to attack together; Tang Hao responds by detonating every remaining soul ring, including his hundred-thousand-year ring. He loses his left arm, falls from Rank 95 to below Rank 92, and escapes with the unconscious Tang San while abandoning Xiao Wu. 24
Moon Pavilion recovery
Tang San brings the unconscious Tang Hao to Moon Pavilion in Heaven Dou City, where Tang Yuehua recognizes him as her second brother. Elder Li stabilizes his bleeding but cannot repair the sword aura, shattered meridians, depleted vitality, and internal injuries. 27 28 29
Tang Hao eventually awakens after three days. He warns Tang San that A Yin’s true body and soul bone are hidden behind the waterfall near Holy Soul Village, unaware that Gu En has already taken both. He also denies killing Yu Xiaogang and explains that Bibi Dong’s past love for Xiaogang is the reason Spirit Hall is hunting them so relentlessly. 36 37
