Background

Xiao Wu lived alongside Tang San at Nuoding Junior Soul Master Academy, where he acted as her protector and she regarded him as her “Brother.” Gu En targeted her after identifying her as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soft-Boned Rabbit in human form. When he threatened to expose her identity and attract the pursuit of Titled Douluo, Xiao Wu agreed to leave with him to protect both herself and Tang San. 20 21

During the confrontation, Dugu Bo accused Tang Hao of arranging Tang San’s friendship with Xiao Wu so she could eventually become Tang San’s soul ring and soul bone. Though Tang San denied knowing either his father’s identity or Xiao Wu’s nature, the accusation left Xiao Wu fearful and suspicious of both father and son. 22

After Tang Hao fled Nuoding City with the unconscious Tang San, Xiao Wu was taken to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect. Her soul power was sealed, and Gu Rong’s spatial shackles bound her in an underground prison. 24 25 30

Gu En sought the Soul Core condensation method used by Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts. Xiao Wu initially refused to reveal it, calling it the foundation of the soul beast race. He broke her resistance by threatening Da Ming and Er Ming, as well as invoking her murdered mother and her need for revenge; she eventually disclosed the method. 30 31

Gu En later forced Xiao Wu to experience a spiritual projection of Bibi Dong and Yu Xiaogang’s past.
