Bibi Dong receives Dongfang Yu in Papal Hall after learning that he possesses Innate Super Soul Power and the angel-type “Holy Maiden” martial soul. Though she acknowledges that it surpasses the Six-Winged Angel in beauty and sacredness, its aura repulses her. She takes Dongfang Yu as her disciple under an implied threat, already forming plans for his unusual power. 2

She directs Dongfang Yu’s early cultivation personally: choosing his Soul Ring targets, withholding his second ring arrangement until later, and confirming that two Soul Rings are needed for the Holy Maiden to awaken its domain. 3 9 10 Her deeper purpose is to turn him into a ruthless “fallen angel” capable of opposing the Qian Clan and its Six-Winged Angel lineage. 10

To force that transformation, Bibi Dong subjects her six-year-old disciple to life-or-death tests in the Hundred-Man Kill arena. She makes him fight and kill progressively stronger opponents, using combat experience and repeated violence to desensitize him to bloodshed. She would have killed him herself if he had failed to kill Billy, but considers his eventual decisiveness proof that he is worth keeping. 10 12 13

Her view of Dongfang Yu gradually changes as he proves useful beyond combat. When Dongfang Yu later defies her warning against approaching Xue Qinghe, Bibi Dong initially tests his loyalty rather than punishing him. Persuaded by his proposal to destabilize the Heaven Dou Empire from within and his Martial Soul Oath, she supplies him with personnel, resources, and political support for the plan. 86 87 88

Bibi Dong’s Rakshasa inheritance intensifies the conflict between her affection for Dongfang Yu and her hatred of angelic power. Under the Rakshasa God’s manipulation, she accepts a seventh divine trial designed to destroy Dongfang Yu psychologically by exploiting his trust in her. After Dongfang Yu’s coup removes her from imperial power, Bibi Dong’s apparently calm surrender is revealed to have stemmed from her intention to relinquish authority and retire with him after unifying the continent. Bibi Dong later formally transfers the Spirit Hall Empire’s throne to Hu Liena and marries Dongfang Yu. Though her political role changes, she remains at his side through the later conflicts and their life after the continental war. 287 291

Her hatred of the Qian Clan and angel-type martial souls is rooted in past trauma. The sacred aura of Dongfang Yu’s Holy Maiden repeatedly disgusts her and recalls Qian Xunji, despite her recognition that a martial soul does not determine its wielder’s morality. 2 42

She values resolve over caution in battle. When Li Hao loses to Dongfang Yu, she judges that his real failure was fearing death, whereas Dongfang Yu was prepared to stake his life on victory. 7

Despite her ruthlessness, Bibi Dong becomes increasingly protective of Dongfang Yu. Dongfang Yu orchestrates a court coup that strips Hu Liena of the Saintess position, elevates him as Holy Son and heir, and grants him command of all imperial forces. Bibi Dong unexpectedly seals the edict without resistance; afterward, Dongfang Yu learns that she had intended to abandon power and retire with him, realizing that the Rakshasa God manipulated him into misjudging her. 270 271
