Background / History

Bo Saixi had waited for more than a century for an exceptional candidate before sensing Hai Ming’s unusual martial-soul awakening at the Sea Dragon Divine Pillar. She personally arrived, ordered an assessment despite his being only six years old, and witnessed him receive the Sea God’s Nine Trials. 2

Recognizing Hai Ming as the Sea God’s chosen inheritor, she declared that nobody on Sea God Island—including herself—was entitled to receive his courtesy. She then brought him to the Sea God’s Temple grounds and promised to remain with him through all nine trials. 2 3

Bo Saixi knows that the final Sea God trial is tied to her own death. This revelation, raised by Kyogre and Hai Ming, causes emotions she had long kept still to fluctuate. 3

Her lover is Tang Chen, whose corrupted soul is at risk of annihilation. Poseidon arranges for Hai Ming’s altered fourth trial to involve rescuing Tang Chen, hoping to reunite the pair in the God Realm. 34

Bo Saixi had indirectly confessed her feelings to Tang Chen and Qian Daoliu by declaring that she would marry whichever man became a god first. Qian Daoliu understood that, as divine guides, neither he nor Bo Saixi could attain godhood and withdrew, while Tang Chen took her statement literally and left to seek godhood through Shura’s inheritance. 76

After Hai Ming frees Tang Chen from the Blood-Red Nine-Headed Bat King’s control, Tang Chen abandons his pursuit of godhood and returns to Sea God Island to reunite with Bo Saixi. Zhu Zhuqing’s Sea God Trials
