After helping Xue Ke confront Spirit Hall’s abuse in the imperial palace, Zhu Zhuqing and Hai Ming traveled to Star Dou Forest, where they agreed to take in the Frost Bear’s daughter, Little Fox.

• Tang San’s team passed Zhu Zhuqing’s second trial by keeping her occupied while Oscar used a Mirror Sausage to survive underwater, then they endured Tidal Body Tempering at the Raging Sea Abyss.
• Tang San’s group rescued Poseyue from the Phantom Starfish Clan, and Zhu Zhuqing killed the Phantom Starfish King, gained its Soul Ring and Soul Bone, and evolved her Divine Slaughter’s Domain into the Asura Domain.
• Poseyue and Siren traveled to Sea God Island with Hai Ming and the others, while Zhu Zhuqing trained until she reached level ninety and became the Titled Douluo Nether Douluo.
• Zhu Zhuqing defeated Big White, the Seven Sacred Pillars, Siren, and Little White for her Asura trial, then traveled with Hai Ming to the continent, where Ning Fengzhi asked her to help Xue Ke.
• Zhu Zhuqing revealed her nine crimson Soul Rings and overpowered Yin-Yang Douluo and Ghost Axe Douluo after Xue Ke described their abuse of the palace maids, while Hai Ming stopped Spirit Hall reinforcements.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing traveled to Star Dou Forest, where Zhu Zhuqing defeated Er Ming, Da Ming, and the Frost Bear as she sought opponents for her trial.
• The Frost Bear asked Zhu Zhuqing to take in his daughter, Little Fox, to keep her safe from unstable and evil Soul Beasts, and Zhu Zhuqing agreed.

Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing completed their search for Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts, brought the Four-Winged Swans back to Sea God Island, and faced their next divine trials. Hai Ming defeated the newly ascended Qian Renxue, then entered the Sea God's Ninth Trial without restoring his Soul Rings.

• Hai Ming named the Frost Bear's daughter Little Snow, then defeated the Evil Soul Beast Undying Bird and took its skull Soul Bone.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing visited Spirit City, where Zhu Zhuqing fought the Soul Devouring Spider Emperor and Qian Renxue asked them to help her enter Slaughter City for the Ten Headed Fierce Yang Serpent.
• Qian Renxue learned the truth about Bibi Dong and reconciled with her before entering Hell Road and claiming the serpent's crimson core.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing confronted the Four-Winged Swan couple in Heaven Dou's Royal Forest, and Hai Ming revealed that the couple had once guarded Sea God's Heart before the Heaven Dou Empire kept it from them.
• The Four-Winged Swans agreed to return to Sea God Island, where Zhu Zhuqing began her fourth Asura trial and completed the Wandering Soul Seven Slaughters by stabbing herself in the heart.
• Qian Renxue became the Angel God after Qian Daoliu sacrificed himself to open the Angel Gate, then challenged Hai Ming near Vast Sea City.
• Hai Ming detonated his Soul Rings repeatedly and defeated Qian Renxue with Twilight of the Sea God, after which he entered the Sea God's Ninth Trial without recovering his Soul Rings.

Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing completed their trials, married, and traveled through a faulty Star Gate to the Pokémon world, where they became entangled in Team Galactic's plans and the conflict surrounding Arceus. In Alamos Town, Hai Ming and Kyogre fought Dialga and Palkia until Giratina joined them.

• Qian Renxue vowed to reclaim the Heaven Dou Empire, while Hai Ming endured repeated lives as ancient sea creatures before completing his trial and returning to Sea God Island.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing reunited after her Shura trials, then departed for Slaughter City, where she completed her inheritance and gained the Shura God Sword.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing confronted the woman behind Ning Fengzhi's disappearance, and Hai Ming stripped away her Martial Soul before inviting Bibi Dong and Qian Renxue to their wedding.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing married on Sea God Island, blessed their guests, and left through a Star Gate that deposited them in Sinnoh, where Hai Ming blessed Dawn and Zhu Zhuqing caught a Shiny Misdreavus.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing met Cyrus in Jubilife City, restrained him when he attacked, and told Cynthia of his plan to use Dialga and Palkia to remake the world.
• Cynthia brought Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing to Michina Temple, where Hai Ming recognized the genuine Life Orb and warned that someone might have set up the temple to draw Arceus's anger.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing traveled to Alamos Town, where Hai Ming made a wager with Darkrai and spent two months with Zhu Zhuqing before spatial disturbances brought Dialga and Palkia into conflict with Darkrai.
• Hai Ming stopped Dialga and Palkia's attacks from colliding, then fought them with Primal Reversion Kyogre as Cynthia summoned Giratina to join the battle.

Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing resolved the crisis surrounding Arceus, earned the power of all eighteen Plates, and then crossed into a new world. Hai Ming took Long Haochen as his disciple and uncovered his connection to the Demon God Emperor.

• Giratina punished Palkia while Hai Ming and Kyogre helped protect Alamos Town, and Dialga restored the town before Palkia returned it to its original world.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing visited Professor Carolina, obtained a top-grade Dusk Stone, and learned that Giratina had taken Tobias’s Darkrai’s Soul Core before returning it.
• Hai Ming stopped Tobias from harming Latios and Raya, and the Pokémon League took Tobias into custody.
• Hai Ming met Shaymin and followed Giratina into the Distortion World, where Zhu Zhuqing’s Hell Spirit Cat Martial Soul evolved into the Nether Lord.
• When Arceus threatened Michina Town, Hai Ming traveled with Zhu Zhuqing and Ash’s group to the past, where they confronted Marcus and the Shiny Arceus.
• Arceus defeated the Shiny Arceus, spared Michina Town’s evacuated civilians, and tested Hai Ming before granting him the power of all eighteen Plates.
• Hai Ming and Zhu Zhuqing were transported to a new world, where Hai Ming offered to teach Long Haochen and Zhu Zhuqing offered to teach Sheng Cai’er.
• Hai Ming healed Bai Yue and revealed that she was Feng Xiu’s daughter and Long Haochen was Feng Xiu’s grandson, then began training Long Haochen after Long Xingyu and Bai Yue reconciled.
