The Netherworld Blood Sea churned, billions of wronged souls wailed, and Killing Intent soared into the heavens.
Houtu stood alone by the Blood Sea, watching these wronged souls find no destination after death, left only to drift aimlessly. Their immense resentment condensed into towering black mist. Tears welled in her eyes as she proclaimed aloud:
"Earthly Dao above! I, Houtu, have witnessed the suffering of all living beings, who die with nowhere to return. I am willing to use the Blood Sea as the foundation to establish the Six Paths of Reincarnation and make whole what the Primordial World lacks! May the Great Dao bear witness!"
The form of an Ancestral Witch appeared behind her, as the heavy laws of earth transformed into chains that coiled around its body.
A thunderous boom rang out from the heavens, shaking heaven and earth. A strand of Chaos descended upon Houtu's Ancestral Witch body, transforming into an unstoppable axe radiance that viciously cleaved into the Blood Sea.
The Blood Sea, formed from blood itself, trembled madly as crimson waves surged.
Lu Chen and Styx, watching from the side, were shocked beyond belief.
Where the axe radiance passed, the viscous Blood Sea was completely severed, and a faint, glimmering ghostly light seeped out from within.
The waters of the Blood Sea slowly evolved into a small world. Above that small world appeared six pitch-black holes filled with nothingness.
"This is this Patriarch's chance to attain the Dao!"
Hearing Lu Chen's voice transmission, Styx's crimson eyes lit up. He immediately shouted, "Earthly Dao above, the Six Paths have just been established, and reincarnation has just been born. The Six Paths cannot be without masters for even a day. I am willing to become one of them—the Asura Path, emerge!"
As his voice fell, Styx transformed into a streak of blood-red light and shot toward one of the black holes.
"Granted."
Houtu glanced at Lu Chen and slowly spoke a single word.
"Styx is appointed Lord of the Asura Path. The paths of Heaven, Humanity, Beasts, Hungry Ghosts, and Hell, emerge!"
As her words fell, the six void-like black holes burst into radiance.
Styx emerged from the Asura Path. His attire had changed completely; he wore a blood-red imperial robe, and his aura had become sacred, no longer as cold and sinister as before. A faint smile rested on his lips, and he was brimming with vigor.
His aura was faint, yet immensely profound, impossible to see through or grasp.
After opening the Six Paths of Reincarnation and the Netherworld small world, the axe radiance completely dissipated.
Looking at the empty small world, Houtu felt that something was missing.
She looked up, but the Earthly Dao gave no response, indicating that the Six Paths of Reincarnation had not yet fully stabilized.
"Alas!"
Houtu sighed, grief surfacing in her eyes. If there had been any other way, she would not have wanted to go this far. Turning back to look at the phantom of her true body behind her, nothing remained in her eyes but reluctance.
"Liberation by Violence!"
As Houtu's voice fell, the phantom of her true body became solid, and flesh separated from bone.
The flesh and bones spread across the Blood Sea, forming a bridge that guided the lonely, wandering souls within the Blood Sea into the Netherworld.
The Bridge of Helplessness emerged!
Then the Three-Life Stone by the bridge, the Yellow Springs Road, the Ghost Gate, the Eighteen Levels of Hell, and the Ten Halls of Yama all appeared within the Netherworld.
With Houtu's earth origin, the Netherworld was completely stabilized.
Billions of miles of auspicious clouds appeared in the sky, their golden light illuminating the entire Blood Sea in dazzling gold.
Within the Heavenly Court.
The eleven Ancestral Witches suddenly felt their hearts twist in pain, and sorrow surged uncontrollably from within them.
"Our little sister!"
"She...!"
Dijiang pressed a large hand over his heart. After the grief came boundless fury!
"To the Blood Sea!"
"Yes, Big Brother!"
The eleven Ancestral Witches surged toward the Blood Sea. To move faster, Dijiang personally used the laws of space, tearing through space as he hurried onward with his brothers.
Houtu's proclamation echoed throughout every corner of the Primordial World, startling the great powers awake one after another.
"Another person in this world has attained the Dao."
A pillar of merit descended, cleansing the Primordial Spirit tainted by Killing Intent. The remaining merit then fell upon a drop of blood, using that blood as its foundation to mold a body.
"Little sister..."
Dijiang and the others arrived. Seeing Houtu's newly formed body in the void, the fury in their eyes abruptly froze, replaced by disbelief.
The moment they heard Houtu say she was no longer a Witch, they had rushed here without stopping. But why could he still sense the Witch Clan's bloodline power from this new body—and such a pure Ancestral Witch bloodline!?
Houtu's Primordial Spirit entered the body. Turning her head toward the brothers who had hurried over, a faint smile appeared on her face.
"My name is Pingxin. I am the Lord of the Six Paths, who commands reincarnation. I am no longer Houtu, no longer a Witch."
That one sentence made Pingxin's stance clear. She had stated it plainly, and even blunt Witch Clan members like Dijiang understood. Dijiang's voice trembled slightly.
"From now on, should we call you little sister, or Lady Pingxin?"
"Either is fine."
Dijiang grinned. Not only him—the ten Ancestral Witches behind him all grinned as well.
They had originally worried that after Houtu became Pingxin and was no longer a Witch, she intended to sever all ties with the Witch Clan. But upon hearing that she still acknowledged them as her brothers and sisters, the worry in their hearts vanished.
"Little sister, your Netherworld has only just been established, so you must be short of hands. Once I return, I'll send Witch Clan warriors over to help you build it."
"Pingxin, you may not leave reincarnation unless an immeasurable calamity arrives!"
A cold, imposing voice fell, and several more figures appeared in the sky.
Hongjun, Laozi, Yuanshi, Tongtian, Nuwa, Zhunti, and Jieyin.
Hongjun had spoken those words.
"Hongjun, you old bastard! You actually want to imprison my little sister!"
Before Pingxin could react, Dijiang was the first to refuse. Not leaving unless an immeasurable calamity came—was that not imprisonment? This was merely a calamity; who knew when an immeasurable calamity would arrive?
He did not care whether Hongjun was the Heavenly Dao or a Sage. Pointing at Hongjun's nose, he roared in fury.
They were only Sages. The Witch Clan now had the confidence not to fear Sages.
Even if there were seven of them!
If they shrank back merely because the other side had seven Sages, then they would not be the Witch Clan!
"Hmph. The Witch Clan is crude and barbaric. You dare insult our teacher—you should be punished!"
Yuanshi snorted coldly, and a massive hand descended toward Dijiang.
A blood-red Sword Qi appeared and directly severed the massive hand.
"Yuanshi, why is your temper so fiery?"
"Styx, have you become a Sage?"
Yuanshi looked toward the master of that blood-red Sword Qi, astonishment appearing in his eyes.
His attention had been fixed on Pingxin and the Witch Clan, so he had not noticed Styx. When he saw Styx shatter his attack and sensed Styx's aura, he was immediately shocked pale.
"Hmph."
Styx merely snorted and did not answer. His silence was as good as an admission.
"Heavenly Dao, return. This trip is destined to end without result."
Pingxin looked toward Hongjun and spoke slowly. Her voice was cold, unlike her former gentleness.
"Earthly Dao, are you going to interfere in this matter?"
Hongjun looked at Pingxin, a savage expression appearing on his face.
"It is not that I insist on interfering. Your hand has simply stretched too far! The matter of my proxy is not for you to meddle in."
Damn, the Earthly Dao is actually this tough this time, going head-to-head against the Heavenly Dao!
Lu Chen, secretly standing in a corner, watched as the Earthly Dao descended directly into Pingxin's body and confronted the Heavenly Dao head-on. He was utterly shocked.
