Chaos Qi

Chaos Qi is an overwhelmingly assimilative energy. Prolonged exposure erodes a being’s Primordial World aura, body, soul, cultivation, and even spiritual treasures; Chen Yang felt his body being ground apart merely by sensing it, while the Three Pure Ones required protective treasures to travel through Chaos. 54 259

• A World Tree branch can absorb Chaos Qi, protect a soul, and gradually make the energy gentler. 243 259
• Chaos Aura is a weaker energy produced by materials stimulated by Chaos Qi. It surpasses Innate Qi but remains below true Chaos Qi, allowing cultivators such as Chen Yang to evolve without immediate assimilation. 198

Grand Dao Comprehension

Chaos provides an exceptional environment for Dao cultivation. World Daoist states that its greatest advantage is not its resources, but the ease with which the Grand Dao can be perceived—as though the Dao is directly displayed before the cultivator. 304

• World Daoist entered Chaos at Primordial Unity First Heaven and returned at Sixth Heaven after hundreds of thousands of years. 286 304
• Chen Yang concluded that his Formation Dao progress in the Primordial World had slowed because he had already exhausted much of its available Formation Dao knowledge. 304

Primordial World Repulsion

Beings born in the Primordial World gradually become Chaos Life after extended exposure to Chaos. Once transformed, they may be rejected by the Primordial World itself. 305

• Rejected beings struggle to absorb Primordial World spiritual qi or continue cultivating there. 305
• Their cultivation grounds, successors, scriptures, and other connections to the Primordial World may gradually disappear. 305
• Great God Yang Mei serves as the principal example: after returning from Chaos, he was rejected by the Heavenly Dao and eventually left the Primordial World following his conflict with Hongjun. 305
• Chen Yang therefore chose to remain in the Primordial World and use World Daoist to explore Chaos in his place. 305

Life and Remnants

Chaos was once inhabited by the Three Thousand Great Path Demon Gods and numerous Branch Demon Gods. Although the Great Path Demon Gods were said to have been slain, Chaos still contains remnants, Chaos Beasts, and potentially intelligent survivors. 285

• Chaos Beasts — Naturally formed from Chaos, possessing bodies, souls, and origins superior in fundamental quality to Chen Yang’s early Chaos Origin. 245
• Branch Demon Gods — Exist above Chaos Beasts in the hierarchy of Chaos life. 245
• Great Path Demon Gods — The highest known category, associated with the Three Thousand Grand Daos. 245
• Chaos Demon God remnants — Flesh, blood, bones, and residual souls can survive for immense periods. When nourished by Innate Qi or other opportunities, they may revive, generate life, or evolve into new races. 123
• Chaos Demon God flesh — World Daoist retrieved a massive piece of likely Branch Demon God flesh after the shockwave from an unknown Chaos lifeform’s roar swept it near the sealed region. 305

Relationship with the Primordial World

The Primordial World is portrayed as fundamentally distinct from Chaos. Ancestral Dragon describes it as a prison formed through Pangu’s transformation, containing trapped remnants of Chaos Demon Gods. 123

Reversing Chaos Grand Formation

Chen Yang created the Reversing Chaos Grand Formation to turn Chaos Qi into a renewable source of spiritual qi for the Primordial World. 282

• A World Tree branch rooted beyond the Primordial World Membrane absorbs Chaos Qi and channels it into the stars. 282
• The stars convert that energy into starlight, which descends into the Primordial Wilderness as spiritual qi. 282
• The formation expands the Primordial World, increases spiritual qi and resources, and enables more lifeforms and spirit treasures to emerge. 282
• Heavenly Dao recognized the formation and granted Chen Yang immense Merit and lasting Primordial World Fortune. 282

Return-to-Origin Formation

Chen Yang developed the Return-to-Origin Formation to convert gentler Chaos Qi supplied by the World Tree into Innate Spiritual Qi that ordinary Human Clan members can absorb. 259 260

• The formation reverses the usual direction of cultivation: instead of condensing spiritual energy into higher-quality power, it disperses Chaos Qi into Innate Qi. 260
• A World Tree branch replaced the Pangu Divine Bone at the core of the Human Realm Grand Formation, allowing the Human Realm to receive transformed Chaos energy. 259
