Er Wa concentrated and adjusted his vision. Only then did Xiao Teng see the person fighting them.
The man was broad and powerfully built, with a cold, stern face. His eyes glimmered with blood-red light, revealing endless ferocity and brutality.
He held a longsword in each hand, their blades flashing with chilling, ghostly light, as though they could sever everything beneath the heavens.
He sat atop an enormous blackish-red lotus, surrounded by thick blood qi.
"Ming He? How did you provoke him?" Xiao Teng asked.
Er Wa explained, "After we snatched the Wood Spirit Pearl from Wood Duke, we kept running west. Before we knew it, we had run all the way to the Netherworld Blood Sea."
"I felt there might be treasures here, so we thought we'd take a look while we were passing through. Who knew we'd run into this old fellow?"
"Though this old fellow isn't much stronger than us, he can actually draw upon the power of this Blood Sea. Even after we activated the great formation, we couldn't do anything to him."
After hearing this, Xiao Teng slapped his forehead in frustration and groaned inwardly. These little brats are far too troublesome.
"If you can't beat him, hurry back. Ming He is not someone to be trifled with."
As long as the Blood Sea did not dry up, Ming He would not die. Within the Blood Sea, Ming He was invincible.
At that moment, Ming He's face was twisted with fury. He clenched the Abi Sword and Yuantu Sword tightly in both hands, their blades trembling faintly and emitting low hums.
He had been sleeping comfortably at home when these Calabash Kids suddenly came and shattered his sweet dream. The rage in his heart was easy to imagine.
"Sorry, Daddy said we're not fighting anymore. We'll be leaving now." The Calabash Kids turned to leave.
"Trying to run? You think you can just leave after attacking me? Not a chance!" Ming He roared and pounced at them again.
"Hey, old man, we only went easy on you because you're so old. Do you really think we're afraid of you?" Third Baby shouted.
Ming He was so furious he wanted to vomit blood. If word of today's events got out, his reputation would be utterly ruined.
"Primal Chaos Gourd, take them in!"
Seventh Gourd shouted and activated the Primal Chaos Gourd.
A powerful suction force erupted from the mouth of the Primal Chaos Gourd, like a black hole, crazily drawing in the Blood Sea water around it.
Ming He was greatly alarmed. He discovered in shock that Seventh Gourd's treasure gourd was like a bottomless pit. The Blood Sea water flowed into it in an endless stream, yet it seemed impossible to fill.
If this Calabash Kid kept absorbing like this, the Blood Sea might truly be drained dry.
"Stop absorbing! Stop absorbing! I'm not fighting anymore!" Ming He hurriedly shouted.
"Fine, then let's call it quits. We need to leave too."
The Calabash Kids stopped attacking, and Seventh Gourd put away the Primal Chaos Gourd.
"Ugh, what rotten luck. You're not allowed to come in here again."
With that, Ming He snorted coldly. His body flickered, and he plunged directly into the Blood Sea, vanishing without a trace.
He secretly swore that if he ever encountered these seven little ancestors again, he would stay as far away from them as possible.
"Wait a moment. Don't rush back yet."
A thought suddenly struck Xiao Teng, and he quickly said.
"What is it, Daddy?" the Calabash Kids asked in unison.
"Since you're already at the Blood Sea, go see if you can find a mosquito."
The mosquito Xiao Teng spoke of was the Blood-Winged Black Mosquito, Mosquito Daoist.
This Blood-Winged Black Mosquito had been born within the Blood Sea and carried the power of filth. Though he rarely showed himself, his exploits alone were enough to make one's blood run cold.
He silently approached Tortoise Spirit Holy Mother, one of the Intercepting Sect's four great disciples, then drained her essence with lightning speed before anyone could cover their ears, causing both her body and soul to perish.
Not only that, he had once audaciously attacked the Buddhist sect's precious treasure, the Twelfth-Grade Merit Golden Lotus, and forcibly gnawed away three grades of it.
That was a Supreme Primordial Spirit Treasure, something that was practically indestructible. Yet the Blood-Winged Black Mosquito could gnaw at its origin. Xiao Teng was truly curious about such power and wanted to witness it with his own eyes.
After a careful search by Er Wa, they finally discovered a Blood-Winged Black Mosquito in a remote corner of the Blood Sea.
Although the Blood-Winged Black Mosquito had already taken human form, he seemed to prefer remaining in mosquito form while within the Blood Sea.
It was small and delicate, black as ink from head to toe. Only the edges of its wings glimmered with a trace of blood-red light, like two ghostly flames in the night.
After receiving the news, the Calabash Kids swiftly flew over and surrounded Mosquito Daoist on all sides.
"Who are you people?" Mosquito Daoist asked somewhat nervously.
"You're the Blood-Winged Black Mosquito, Mosquito Daoist?" Da Wa asked.
"I am," Mosquito Daoist answered cautiously.
He had always lived in the Blood Sea and had little contact with others. Why had this group come looking for him?
"Our Daddy wants to see you. Come with us," Si Wa said.
Hearing Si Wa's words, Xiao Teng could not help laughing. Why did he sound like some underworld boss?
Seeing that the Calabash Kids outnumbered him, Mosquito Daoist did not dare fight. Without another word, he fled downward in panic, plunging headfirst into the Blood Sea reeking of blood.
Seeing this, Da Wa bellowed, "Trying to run? Where do you think you're going!"
Like a falling star, he shot downward with fierce speed. His fist, as large as a clay pot, carried the force to topple mountains and overturn seas as it smashed viciously into the Blood Sea.
In an instant, all the Blood Sea water within a thousand meters was blasted into the air, forming an enormous curtain of blood-red waves.
The surging force swept up Mosquito Daoist and violently knocked him out of the Blood Sea.
Mosquito Daoist was terrified. He desperately beat his tiny yet incredibly nimble wings, trying to flee this place as quickly as possible.
"Over there! Don't let him get away!" Er Wa's gaze was like a blazing torch, taking in every movement Mosquito Daoist made.
With Er Wa's vision locked onto him, escaping was harder for Mosquito Daoist than ascending to the heavens.
Naturally, the Calabash Kids would not let such a perfect chance slip away. They immediately began to surround and intercept him.
Some dove down from the sky, while others swiftly circled in from the water's surface. Their movements were agile, their coordination seamless, and they finally trapped Mosquito Daoist in an area thick with blood mist.
"You're going too far!" Mosquito Daoist was shocked and enraged, his heart filled with unwillingness and resentment, yet he could do nothing.
In a desperate gamble, he raised his black mouthpart, which glimmered with eerie light, and charged madly at the smallest of them, Seventh Gourd.
Seventh Gourd had heard Daddy say that Mosquito Daoist's mouthpart was the thing they needed to be most wary of.
So he took out the Wuji Apricot-Yellow Banner and fiercely struck Mosquito Daoist back.
Right after that, the other Calabash Kids each brought out their Five-Element Spirit Pearls.
In an instant, the metal, wood, water, fire, and earth Spirit Pearls blazed with brilliant light, circling Mosquito Daoist to form a dazzling, indestructible five-colored cage that bound him tightly.
Da Wa let out a long breath. "We finally caught this guy."
Mosquito Daoist was so tiny and so nimble, as slippery as a loach coated in mud. Catching him had truly taken quite an effort.
