History

Little Flame first encounters Lin Yi unconscious in the forest, licks his face, and remains close after he awakens. It understands his question about other humans, signals for him to follow, and deliberately leads him to the Bluestone Tribe. 1 2

At the tribe entrance, Xiao Hu recognizes the fox as Little Flame. The Village Chief accepts Lin Yi as a guest specifically because Little Flame brought him—a first in the fox’s eight years with the tribe. The Chief later explains that Little Flame judged Lin Yi harmless and exceptionally gifted through its innate discernment. 3 4

Little Flame becomes a quiet fixture of Lin Yi’s life in Bluestone. It observes his early cultivation, appears satisfied when he reaches Initial Blood Resonance, accompanies the tribe to the Tribal Exchange Gathering, and helps assess strangers’ intentions along the road. 7 42 43

While Lin Yi cultivates, Little Flame’s concealed Divine Markings intermittently surface as though responding to something deep in the Great Wilderness. It repeatedly suppresses them and returns to Xiao Hu rather than leave the tribe. 41 52

Its bloodline ultimately awakens during the return journey from Flamewaste. Di Qing tracks it to the group, identifies it as a member of the Mingdi Spirit Fox Clan, and insists that it must return to its clan. Little Flame resists leaving immediately and protects Lin Yi and the Bluestone Tribe from Di Qing’s interest in Lin Yi’s Spirit Eyes. 54 55

After one final day with the tribe, Little Flame says goodbye to Xiao Hu and departs with Di Qing. 56

Little Flame is a crimson spirit fox with an unusually expressive, almost humanlike demeanor. Its hidden Divine Markings reveal a far more extraordinary nature than its small, relaxed appearance suggests. 1 43

Despite its aloof behavior, it is deeply attached to the Bluestone Tribe—especially Xiao Hu. When its markings call it toward the Great Wilderness, it chooses to suppress them and return to Xiao Hu’s bedside; later, it resists Di Qing’s attempt to take it away and stands protectively before Lin Yi and the villagers. 41 55
