Background
Lin Yi arrived in the Great Wilderness with no believable explanation for his origins and initially concealed the truth by claiming amnesia. Little Flame led him to the Bluestone Tribe, where the Village Chief accepted him as a guest despite recognizing the lie; the fox's judgment established that Lin Yi bore no malice and possessed exceptional talent. 3 4
The Village Chief taught him the Bluestone Blood-Transporting Method and gave him shelter, food, and clothing. In exchange, Lin Yi pledged to aid the tribe if it ever faced a life-or-death crisis. 4 5
Personality
Lin Yi is analytical, persistent, and unusually willing to test assumptions through painful experimentation. Rather than follow the Bluestone Blood-Transporting Method blindly, he identified its flaws, refined its circulation route, and reached Initial Blood Resonance in only four days. 7
He is cautious about exposing his origins and abilities, suppressing his cultivation at Flamewaste and keeping the Super Brain and Spirit Eyes secret. He nevertheless acts decisively when knowledge or survival is at stake, using his abilities to study Divine Markings, acquire concealed treasures, and develop new techniques. 43 46 47 50
His attachment to Bluestone Tribe grows from pragmatic gratitude into genuine familial loyalty. He shares valuable prey and techniques, treats Biao's shattered arm in repayment for saving him, and recognizes the harm caused when his fake-injury prank frightens the tribe. 30 39 40
Abilities & Skills
Super Brain
Lin Yi's evolving mental ability grants exceptional memory, comprehension, calculation, and pattern analysis.
- Deciphers ancient writing, memorizes complete cultivation scrolls and diagrams after a single reading, and reconstructs them mentally. 5
- Improves his comprehension over time, allowing him to optimize circulation methods and rapidly adapt beast Divine Markings for humans. 7 13 32
- Records Divine Markings in exact detail during combat or through Spirit Eyes. 10 43
- Absorbs spiritual energy instinctively; a gray-black spiritual-energy stone provided approximately three days' worth of his normal comprehension growth. 29 48
- Cannot create useful techniques indefinitely without sufficient source material; he needs cultivation methods or Divine Marking templates to make further deductions. 19
- Can record patterns beyond his current ability to comprehend, as shown by the incomplete Lava Giant Ape markings. 38
Spirit Eyes
Awakened after Lin Yi was nearly killed in the Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolf battles. Pale-gold markings appear across his eyes when activated. 29 30
- Sees through flesh, bandages, soil, foliage, and other obstructions. 30 34
- Perceives spiritual energy, internal blood-qi flow, Divine Markings, and fine physical details. 29 30 43
- Enabled him to precisely realign Biao's shattered forearm and identify internal bleeding and bone fragments. 30
- Detects hidden beasts, environmental traces, and spiritual treasures that appear ordinary to others. 34 38 47
- Allows direct observation and recording of Divine Markings within ferocious beasts and spirit beasts. 30 43
- Using the ability while injured can exhaust his remaining blood energy. 30
Savage Bull Diagram
A human martial skill Lin Yi created by reconstructing the Savage Bull King's Divine Markings around human meridians and Aperture Points. 13 14
- Produces blood-gold markings and a phantom Savage Bull when activated. 13 17
- More than doubles Lin Yi's strength: from a 20,000-jin foundation to nearly 45,000 jin at Initial Blood Resonance. 14
- Raised his explosive power to at least 160,000 during the Mountain-Sinking Realm. 33
- Requires refined blood-qi control; the Bluestone hunters initially could not form complete patterns. 17
- Lin Yi created a detailed beast-hide instructional diagram to teach the technique to the tribe. 15 16
Savage Bull Art
A foundational cultivation method derived from the Savage Bull Diagram and the Bluestone Blood-Transporting Method. 18 19
- Establishes permanent, automatic blood-qi circulation that continuously tempers the body. 19
- Converts nourishment into steadily increasing physical strength while reducing reliance on harmful external bluestone strikes. 15 19
- Requires Savage Bull Diagram markings as a prerequisite; Lin Yi initially withheld it because the hunters had not yet mastered the diagram. 19
- Was later improved by integrating Inkshadow Leopard tempering principles, increasing efficiency by about 30%. 33
Flowing Light, Fleeting Shadow
A two-layer speed martial skill created from the Inkshadow Leopard's Divine Markings. 32
- Flowing Light — sustainable movement mode that more than doubles Lin Yi's speed with low blood-qi consumption; suited to travel, pursuit, and hunting. 32
- Fleeting Shadow — high-consumption burst mode that reaches nearly four times his normal speed; suited to evasion, escape, and short-range pursuit. 32
- Its explosive mode drains blood qi rapidly and requires Spirit Eyes' dynamic vision for safe control at maximum speed. 32
Breath-Concealing Art
A concealment technique used to suppress Lin Yi's apparent cultivation level.
- Allowed him to mask his Mountain-Sinking aura as Initial Blood Resonance during his prank on the tribe. 39
- At Flamewaste Tribe, he concealed his Dragonlike Realm cultivation and appeared to be only Tidal Surge Realm. 46 50
Teaching and Healing
- Developed water-treading exercises to train the hunting team in precise blood-qi control before teaching them the Savage Bull Diagram. 17 18
- Uses anatomical knowledge and Spirit Eyes for emergency treatment, including constructing a stretcher for Falcon and setting Biao's shattered arm. 22 30
Equipment / Weapons / Items
- Bone-tipped spear — issued by Biao for Lin Yi's first hunt; used against the Savage Bull King. 8 10
- Sword Embryo — a crude-looking, deliberately damaged artifact containing intricate Divine Markings; acquired through the Village Chief's trade with refugees. 49
