Background / History
Biao cultivated for more than thirty years to reach the Mountain-Sinking Realm. His early progress was comparatively slow: he recalls needing three months to attain Initial Blood Resonance. The village chief personally used the tribe’s bluestone method to identify the direction of Biao’s Aperture Points, leaving him with the hidden injuries common to the inherited training method. 5 8 15 16
He began carrying bluestones for cultivation at five years old, advancing through decades of arduous training before Lin Yi’s arrival. 19
He began hunting under Falcon’s father, who taught him tracking, wind-reading, and wilderness survival. When Biao rashly charged ahead during an encounter with a Ferocious Beast, Falcon’s father saved him at the cost of his own life; Biao continued to carry that loss ten years later, particularly when Falcon was gravely injured by the Rock Python. 23
By the time Lin Yi joined Bluestone Tribe, Biao was the tribe’s strongest warrior and captain of its main hunting party. He became Lin Yi’s first wilderness mentor and protector, teaching him the rules of hunting, weapon safety, and the dangers of the Great Wilderness after nightfall. 7 8
Biao had also attended previous Tribal Exchange Gatherings. Cang Lan recognized him from several such meetings and remembered his distinctive great saber. 43
Appearance
Biao is an exceptionally muscular, imposing man whose physique is described as an iron tower. Though intimidating at first sight, his square face and gentle eyes soften his appearance. 6
- Shoulders as broad as door panels and arms nearly as thick as Lin Yi’s waist. 6
- Bare upper body marked by numerous pale, crisscrossing scars from battle and bluestone cultivation. 6 15
- Thick brows, square face, and a booming voice likened to thunder. 6
- Usually carries and maintains a broad-backed saber. 8 23
Personality
Biao is blunt, loud, and exuberantly encouraging. He openly celebrates Lin Yi’s rapid breakthroughs, repeatedly calling him a “monster” while treating his success as a source of pride for the tribe rather than a threat to his own position. 8 14 19
His roughness is balanced by humility and practical judgment. After Lin Yi surpasses him in their spar, Biao immediately acknowledges Lin Yi as the hunting team’s leader; when Lin Yi later asks him to retain command during a hunt because of his superior experience, Biao accepts the responsibility without prideful conflict. 19 20
Biao is fiercely protective of his family and comrades. Falcon’s injury reopens the trauma of losing Falcon’s father, while his refusal to abandon Lin Yi during the Xie Wolf attack demonstrates a willingness to die beside those he considers brothers. 23 27 28
He tends to conceal his injuries and worries behind bravado. His wife sees through his attempts to appear unharmed after the Savage Bull King hunt, and Lin Yi recognizes that his cheerful talk of resting during recovery masks anxiety about the tribe’s hunting grounds and survival. 11 33
Even after Lin Yi becomes powerful enough to fly and hunt Dragonlike Realm beasts with ease, Biao continues offering practical advice rather than assuming strength makes caution unnecessary. At Lin Yi’s departure, he and Mang urge him to remain vigilant in the Great Wilderness and retreat when necessary. 58 61 62
Abilities & Skills
Mountain-Sinking Physique
Biao possesses a Blood-Qi Mountain Sinking Realm body forged through decades of bluestone cultivation and hunting. 5
- Wields roughly 80,000 jin of strength, later recorded at 85,000 jin. 5 19
- Can kill mid-rank Ferocious Beasts barehanded. 5
- Easily overpowers Lin Yi’s 45,000-jin struggle while carrying him over one shoulder. 16
- Retains enough strength to kill Xie Wolves even while badly wounded and fighting one-handed. 27
Saber and Close-Quarters Combat
Biao fights primarily with a broad-backed saber, but is equally willing to grapple or strike with his bare hands when a weapon is ineffective. 8 10 21
- Blocked the Savage Bull King’s horn charge head-on, despite being thrown back and injured by its greater force. 10
- Crippled the Savage Bull King’s front leg with a saber strike, creating the opening for the hunting party’s final assault. 10
- Fought the Rock Python barehanded when conventional attacks could not restrain it. 21
- Attacked the Inkshadow Leopard immediately after it injured Lin Yi, despite being outmatched by its Divine Ability-enhanced speed. 26
- Sent one attacking Xie Wolf flying with a right-handed punch and crushed another’s skull in his palm while his left arm was crippled. 27
Hunting Leadership and Wilderness Knowledge
As the hunting-party captain, Biao is the tribe’s most experienced field commander. 7 20
- Enforces the rule that hunters must return before sunset, when the Great Wilderness becomes vastly more dangerous. 8
- Teaches hunters to identify beast tracks, scent trails, nests, prey formations, and conditions requiring retreat. 8
- Commands coordinated responses to threats, including pair-based scouting and emergency rescues. 8 20
- Recognizes dangerous Ferocious Beasts such as the Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolves, including the threat posed by their bloodlines and leaders. 25 27

- Leads half the hunting team in guarding Bluestone Tribe while the village chief takes the other half to the Tribal Exchange Gathering. 42
- Organizes prey collection and battlefield cleanup, and later works with Mang to process Lin Yi’s large haul of Dragonlike Realm beasts. 24 61
Blood-Qi Control Training
Biao improves his control of blood qi through Lin Yi’s foundational exercises, though his immense reserves initially make fine manipulation difficult. 17
- Learns to cross a stream by spreading blood qi across the soles of his feet. 19
- Continues training after Lin Yi judges his water-walking only barely sufficient. 19
- Studies the Savage Bull Art and Savage Bull Diagram while his left hand is still recovering, reaching a respectable training standard during the tribe’s half-month respite after the gathering. 57
- Can disperse moisture from his body into white mist with a surge of blood qi after water-walking practice. 19
Equipment
- Broad-backed saber — Biao’s primary hunting weapon, used against the Savage Bull King and Inkshadow Leopard. Its distinctive appearance is remembered by Cang Lan from previous Trade Gatherings. 8 10 26 43
- Bone blade — A blade he sharpens at home and carries during tribal life. 6
- Whetstone — Frequently used to maintain his weapons, particularly when worried about a coming hunt. 6 23
- Penetration Divine Marking-enhanced hunting weapons — Before leaving Bluestone Tribe, Lin Yi permanently inscribes all hunting-team weapons with Penetration Divine Markings. These weapons function as Spirit Artifacts when activated with blood qi. 61
Relationships
- Lin Yi — Initially Lin Yi’s wilderness mentor and assigned protector; their relationship becomes one of mutual respect and brotherhood after repeatedly saving one another during the Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolf battles. Biao accepts Lin Yi as hunting-team leader after losing their spar, while Lin Yi continues to defer to Biao’s superior field experience. Lin Yi later teaches him the Savage Bull techniques, and Biao remains a supportive adviser at his departure from the tribe. 8 19 20 26 28 33 57 62
- Xiao Hu — His energetic son. Biao is affectionate but stern, correcting Xiao Hu when the boy exaggerates Lin Yi’s strength or behaves recklessly. 6 14
- Biao’s wife — His unnamed wife, who sees through his attempts to hide injuries and insists on caring for him after dangerous hunts. 11 30 33
- Village Chief — A longtime elder and mentor who helped guide Biao’s early cultivation and trusts him with the tribe’s hunting party and defenses. 8 16 42
- Falcon — A fellow hunter and the son of Biao’s late mentor. Falcon’s near-death injury deeply affects Biao and drives his urgency during the Rock Python hunt. 22 23
- Falcon’s father — Biao’s deceased hunting mentor, who taught him tracking and survival skills and sacrificed his life to save him ten years earlier. Biao’s sense of debt to him shapes his concern for Falcon. 23
- Mang — A veteran hunting teammate who serves beside Biao in the tribe’s expeditions and rescue efforts. He helps Biao regain his resolve after Falcon’s injury, later assists with processing Lin Yi’s hunting spoils, and joins Biao in advising Lin Yi before his departure. 20 23 28 61 62
- Cang Lan — An acquaintance from several previous Trade Gatherings who recognizes Biao’s great saber and expects him to lead Bluestone Tribe’s delegation. 43
Story Role / Major Arcs
First Hunt and the Savage Bull King
Biao leads Lin Yi’s first expedition into the Great Wilderness, equips him with a bone-tipped spear, and orders him to remain close for protection. During the Savage Bull King battle, Biao acts as the party’s shield, survives the beast’s charge, and capitalizes on Lin Yi’s attack on its weak point to help bring it down. 8 10
Afterward, Biao regrets that the beast’s Divine Markings have faded, explaining that such patterns can serve as references for human martial arts and could have considerable trade value. On returning to the tribe, he credits Lin Yi’s quick thinking with preventing casualties, while his wife discovers the injuries he tries to conceal. 10 11
Savage Bull Diagram Training
Biao is among the first people to witness Lin Yi’s Savage Bull Diagram and is stunned by its power. Although he struggles to understand Aperture Points and initially cannot control his blood qi precisely enough to form the technique, he commits to Lin Yi’s foundational training. 14 16 17 19
During the tribe’s peaceful half-month after the Trade Gathering, Lin Yi teaches Biao and the hunting team both the Savage Bull Art and Savage Bull Diagram. Biao’s left hand has not yet fully healed, but it no longer interferes with daily life, and he trains to a respectable standard. More than half of the main hunting team achieves initial mastery of the diagram during this period. 57
Hunting-Team Leadership Transition
After Lin Yi reaches Blood-Qi Tidal Surge and defeats him with the Savage Bull Diagram, Biao publicly declares Lin Yi the hunting team’s leader. On the next hunt, however, Lin Yi respectfully asks Biao to retain operational command because Biao’s wilderness experience remains indispensable. 19 20
Rock Python Rescue and Renewed Resolve
Biao and Lin Yi rush to rescue Falcon from the Rock Python, coordinating saber attacks and physical restraint to prevent the beast from escaping into the rocks. Biao’s urgency intensifies when Lin Yi tells him that Falcon may still be saved. 20 21
Although Falcon survives, his grave injuries leave Biao guilt-stricken and bring back memories of Falcon’s father dying to protect him. With food supplies running low, Biao must nevertheless organize another hunt. Lin Yi’s reassurance and Mang’s declaration of the hunters’ shared duty help him regain his composure and lead the party out again. 23
Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolf Pack
Biao abandons caution to strike at the Inkshadow Leopard after it badly injures Lin Yi, suffering a shattered left forearm and losing consciousness in the attempt. After awakening amid the Xie Wolf pack, he stands back-to-back with Lin Yi and repeatedly shields him despite his broken arm and worsening wounds. 26 27 28
The village chief drives the wolves away with the Eye of Zheng before the Mountain-Sinking Realm Xie Wolf King can attack the exhausted pair. Mang and the hunting team bind Biao and Lin Yi’s wounds and carry them back to the tribe. 28
Recovery and Tribal Defense
Lin Yi uses Spirit Eyes and precise blood-qi control to reset Biao’s shattered arm. Though Biao requires at least a month of rest, he worries about the hunting grounds and gradually comes to rely on Lin Yi to shoulder the tribe’s burdens. He later remains behind to guard Bluestone Tribe during the Tribal Exchange Gathering and is fully recovered by Lin Yi’s Spirit-Nurturing Realm breakthrough. 30 33 42 59
When Di Qing transports the returning delegation home through the air, Biao comes out to greet the village chief and asks in astonishment how they descended from the sky. His injuries are already recovering well, and the chief briefly explains the situation to him. 56
Biao later witnesses Lin Yi’s first flight alongside Mang and reacts with disbelief. After Lin Yi lands, he is the first to greet him and loudly recognizes that he has likely achieved another breakthrough. 58 59
Final Hunting Haul and Lin Yi’s Departure
When Lin Yi returns from three days of hunting with numerous Dragonlike Realm beasts, Biao and Mang are astonished by both the quantity and quality of the prey. They readily accept responsibility for processing the corpses and call the other tribespeople over to help. Lin Yi subsequently equips the hunting team with permanently inscribed Penetration Divine Marking weapons. 61
At Lin Yi’s farewell, Biao and Mang give him practical warnings about the Great Wilderness, urging him to stay cautious and retreat when necessary. Lin Yi leaves the tribe his accumulated cultivation methods and martial skills, preserving a legacy that can continue benefiting Biao and the other hunters after his departure. 62
