Stage / Realm / Level Chapter Notes
Initial awakening 29–30 White-gold Divine Markings spread from Lin Yi's cerebral cortex to his eyes after his Super Brain absorbs spiritual energy. Lin Yi gains penetrating vision, dynamic vision, and the ability to see spiritual energy, then names the ability Spirit Eyes. 29 30
Spirit-Nurturing evolution 58 Lin Yi's brain absorbs spiritual power created after he opens the Baihui, Shenting, and Shangxing Acupoints. The resulting evolution sharpens Spirit Eyes' perception of the world and spiritual energy. 58
Mid Spirit-Nurturing enhancement 70 Resonance among more than eighty opened head Aperture Points strengthens the eyes again. Spirit Eyes assimilate the Eye of Zheng's divine-light ability into a platinum-white offensive technique. 70

Background

Spirit Eyes originated when Lin Yi was unconscious following the battle against the Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolf pack. His Super Brain absorbed surrounding spiritual energy, producing self-evolving white-gold Divine Markings across his cerebral cortex. These markings extended through his neural pathways and into his eyes, leaving him with unnatural visual clarity upon awakening. 29

After discovering that he could see through his own bandages, flesh, and bones, observe a flying insect's wingbeats frame by frame, and perceive spiritual-energy particles entering his brain, Lin Yi activated the markings with blood energy and named the ability Spirit Eyes. 30

Di Qing later identifies Spirit Eyes as an awakened Divine Ability. He states that humans normally possess creativity and learning ability rather than Innate Divine Abilities, making Lin Yi—who has pure human blood—an anomaly rarer than one in ten million. 55 56

Abilities & Skills

Penetrating Vision

Spirit Eyes can perceive beneath surfaces, rendering layered material, flesh, and bone transparent to Lin Yi.

  • Sees through cloth, ointment, skin, flesh, fascia, and bone. 30
  • Reveals fractures, bone fragments, internal bleeding, meridians, and the circulation of blood energy. 30
  • Can inspect vegetation, soil, hidden footprints, and traces beneath fallen leaves. 34
  • Its range and depth are not unlimited; Lin Yi could not see the bottom of the spiritual-energy lake from its surface. 62

Dynamic and Microscopic Vision

Spirit Eyes vastly improve Lin Yi's visual resolution and motion tracking.

  • Reveals minute details in darkness, including wood grain, drifting dust, fibers, and raised textures. 29 30
  • Tracks rapid movement closely enough to distinguish the veins and individual wingbeats of a tiny flying insect. 30
  • Helps Lin Yi control high-speed movement techniques; without its passive dynamic vision, he nearly crashes into a tree while using Fleeting Shadow. 32

Spiritual-Energy Perception

When activated, Spirit Eyes reveal spiritual energy as visible motes and currents.

  • Shows spiritual energy drifting into Lin Yi's forehead and being absorbed by his brain. 30
  • Detects dormant spiritual energy concealed within otherwise ordinary objects, including the gray-black Spirit Stone and the Spiritual Energy Crystal beneath an ancient skeleton. 47 63
  • Allows Lin Yi to identify hidden threats and concealed creatures, such as the boar-like guardian of a heavenly treasure. 38
  • Can be discreetly activated with its glow suppressed, allowing Lin Yi to inspect trade goods without revealing his ability. 47

Divine Marking Observation

Spirit Eyes allow Lin Yi to observe Divine Markings within living beasts even before their Bloodline Divine Abilities are activated.

  • Pierces through fur, flesh, shells, and muscle to reveal internal Divine Marking structures. 30 35 36
  • Lets Lin Yi observe the active flow, connections, and convergence points of an opponent's markings during combat. 36
  • Works in conjunction with Lin Yi's Super Brain, which records the observed structures for later comprehension and adaptation. 36 43
  • Exposes markings in spirit beasts and artifacts, including Little Flame's gilded Divine Markings, the Eye of Zheng, Spirit Artifacts, and the damaged Sword Embryo. 43 49 50 62
  • Observing a marking does not guarantee comprehension: Lin Yi could record only around ten percent of the Lava Giant Apes' exceptionally complex markings, while Little Flame's Gilded Divine Markings initially remained beyond his understanding. 38 44

Tracking and Reconnaissance

The ability gives Lin Yi exceptional scouting and hunting utility.

  • Identifies old tracks through soil and leaf cover, including the compaction and age-related details of footprints. 34
  • Detects hidden beasts, ambushes, and enemies at a distance. 35 38 53
  • Scans the Dark Forest canopy and terrain from above to locate the Shadowmarked Spiders before engaging them. 60
  • Immediately assesses the blood-qi, spiritual power, injuries, and remaining combat capacity of the Glimmering Abyss Tribe hunting party. 66
  • Could not locate Di Qing or perceive any spiritual-energy fluctuations when the latter appeared in the cave, demonstrating the ability's limits against vastly superior beings. 55

Medical Diagnosis

Spirit Eyes provide Lin Yi with detailed internal anatomical information.

  • Revealed the exact state of Biao's shattered forearm, including displaced fragments, embedded splinters, blood accumulation, and weakened blood-energy flow. 30
  • Allowed Lin Yi to accurately realign Biao's fractured bones before the village chief splinted and bandaged the arm. 30
  • Lin Yi compares its healing value to having both a microscope and an X-ray machine. 30

Divine Light

After studying the Eye of Zheng's incomplete Divine Markings, Lin Yi grafted its eye-based divine-light beam into Spirit Eyes.

  • Fires a nearly undodgeable, highly penetrating beam whose power depends on the spiritual power supplied. 62
  • Initially accompanies the Eye of Zheng's mental-pressure effect, which strengthens Lin Yi's aura and suppresses an opponent's mind. 62
  • Following the Mid Spirit-Nurturing Realm enhancement, Spirit Eyes assimilate the ability into platinum-white divine light. 70
  • The upgraded divine light inflicts physical damage as well as a mental or Divine Soul assault, making it especially dangerous against Spirit-Nurturing cultivators. 70

Appearance

When inactive, Spirit Eyes leave Lin Yi's eyes outwardly normal apart from an occasional faint pale-gold or white-gold gleam. Upon activation, Divine Markings spread from his pupils across the surface of his eyes. 30 47 58

  • Early activation manifests as fine pale-gold markings resembling spiderwebs. 30
  • Later evolution produces white-gold markings within the pupils and stronger platinum-white radiance. 58 70
  • The divine-light attack appears as platinum-white light fired directly from Lin Yi's eyes. 70

Relationships

  • Lin Yi — Host and sole known user; the ability awakened through the evolution of his Super Brain after a near-death recovery. 29 30
  • Biao — Spirit Eyes enabled Lin Yi to diagnose and reset Biao's severely shattered arm in repayment for Biao's protection. 30
  • Little FlameLin Yi uses Spirit Eyes to record its body-wide Gilded Divine Markings, whose densest and most profound structures are concentrated around its eyes. 42 43
  • Eye of Zheng — Its incomplete Divine Markings supplied the divine-light and mental-pressure functions that Lin Yi integrated into Spirit Eyes. 62 70
  • Di Qing — Identifies Spirit Eyes as an extraordinarily rare human-awakened Divine Ability and repeatedly expresses interest in studying or removing them. 55 56

Story Role / Major Arcs

Awakening and Biao's Treatment

Spirit Eyes awaken after Lin Yi's injuries from the Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolf battle. Rather than testing the ability only for personal gain, Lin Yi immediately uses it to treat Biao's comminuted fracture. 29 30

Great Wilderness Exploration

While hunting alone, Lin Yi turns Spirit Eyes into a primary reconnaissance tool for tracking prey, detecting hidden enemies, examining heavenly treasures, and collecting Divine Markings from ferocious beasts. 34 38

Trade Gathering

At the Flamewaste Tribe's Trade Gathering, Lin Yi covertly uses Spirit Eyes to find the Spirit Stone, inspect hidden Divine Markings in the Sword Embryo, copy cultivation-realm information, and study Spirit Artifacts without exposing his interest. 47 49 50

Spirit-Nurturing Evolution

Spirit Eyes evolve during Lin Yi's breakthrough into the Spirit-Nurturing Realm, improving their clarity and spiritual-energy perception. The ability develops again after Lin Yi absorbs Earth Marrow Milk and reaches the Mid Spirit-Nurturing Realm. 58 70

Eye of Zheng Integration

Before leaving Bluestone Tribe, Lin Yi studies the tribe's Eye of Zheng and adapts its incomplete Divine Markings into Spirit Eyes. This grants him an eye-fired divine-light attack and a mental-pressure technique. 62

Trivia

  • Lin Yi chose the name “Spirit Eyes” because it was simple and immediately indicated that the ability was related to his eyes. 30
  • Spirit Eyes were initially suspected by Lin Yi to be a human bloodline ability, though Di Qing later classifies them as an unprecedented human-awakened Divine Ability. 31 56
  • The ability's value lies not only in combat: it is central to Lin Yi's healing, tracking, treasure appraisal, Divine Marking research, and weapon-inscription development. 30 34 47 60
