Power Progression

Background / History

Spirit Eyes originated during Lin Yi’s recovery from the battle against the Inkshadow Leopard and Xie Wolf pack. While unconscious, his Super Brain instinctively absorbed surrounding spiritual energy; most of that energy fueled an autonomous evolution of Platinum Divine Markings within his cerebral cortex. The markings eventually extended through his neural pathways and into his eyes, leaving them faintly luminous even before he understood their purpose 29.

Upon awakening, Lin Yi discovered that his sight could penetrate his own bandages, flesh, bones, and blood vessels, while also resolving the motion of a tiny insect’s wings frame by frame. By circulating qi and blood toward his eyes, he activated white-gold Divine Markings and began seeing spiritual energy as particles entering his brain. He named the ability Spirit Eyes 30.

Spirit Eyes immediately proved valuable for medicine. Lin Yi used it to inspect Biao’s shattered forearm, identify every displaced bone fragment and obstruction in his blood-qi flow, and guide the fracture back into alignment before the village chief secured it with splints and bandages 30.

Di Qing later identifies Spirit Eyes as a Divine Ability. According to him, pure-blooded humans almost never awaken such abilities; humans are ordinarily distinguished by creativity and learning, while Divine Abilities are more common among powerful Ferocious Beasts and spirit beasts. Lin Yi’s Spirit Eyes therefore make him an exceptional anomaly 55 56.

After comprehending Little Flame’s Gilded Divine Markings, Lin Yi traced them within his pupils using spiritual power. Rather than remaining a separate inscription, the golden lines dissolved into Spirit Eyes’ platinum-white markings. Testing another beast’s markings produced no absorption, leading him to identify the ability’s selective compatibility with eye- and sight-related Divine Markings. This integration granted three additional abilities and strengthened his original perception 91.

Lin Yi’s Soul Extremity Realm breakthrough triggered another evolution. Following his brain’s transformation, Spirit Eyes independently absorbed large quantities of spiritual energy and Stellar Origin. Its abilities became roughly three times stronger, and its platinum radiance acquired star-blue flecks. Lin Yi detected no new ability, but speculated that another latent power might require deliberate discovery, as the earlier assimilation ability had 97.

During his study of the Extreme Coldstorm, Lin Yi turned to Spirit Eyes after the storm destroyed a fragment of his Divine Sense. Observing its unusual energy led him into a vision of Demon Emperor Ice Abyss’s rise and revealed the nature of a Phenomenon. He then used Spirit Eyes to distinguish Ice and Snow Intent, entering an epiphany that culminated in his own Phenomenon, Matchless Elegance 113 114.

After Lin Yi entered the One Dao Realm, Spirit Eyes evolved alongside his brain and Divine Soul. Each pupil developed multiple nested inner layers resembling Dao Wheels, with adjacent layers rotating in opposite directions. This was not a conventional Double Pupil structure. The evolution also granted direct perception of Dao Principles, but testing it attracted a terrifying presence and disturbed the Eye of the Great Dao. Lin Yi stopped the ability and spat blood, concluding that his cultivation was insufficient to sustain the new perception safely 131 132.

Penetrating Vision

Spirit Eyes can see through physical layers and reveal internal structures with extreme precision.
