The speaker was Uchiha Madara, the most talented and strongest member of the Uchiha Clan's younger generation.

A head-on clash truly showed how formidable the Uchiha Clan was. Every member of the clan was an elite ninja.

Uchiha Jobu had not awakened his Sharingan yet, and he had only just turned six. Before his transmigration, a six-year-old would still have been enjoying childhood at school. But now, as a member of the Uchiha Clan during the Warring States Era, he had already been forced to take up a cold kunai and fight enemies to the death.

Their enemies were a band of wandering ninja-ninja who roamed from place to place, just as the name suggested. They had no fixed place to rest, nor anywhere they could call home. Every day, they scrambled to fill their empty stomachs, and they would butcher ordinary people for food.

A wandering ninja who looked about twenty, with a scar left by some blade across his face, suddenly charged at Uchiha Jobu. His long sword swept upward like a venomous snake, while a short blade slashed horizontally. The two blades crossed in an instant, delivering a cross-shaped attack.

The Uchiha blood flowing through his veins allowed him to adapt to this kind of combat in an instant. Faced with the enemy's crossing blades, he did not panic and flee. Instead, he gritted his teeth and steeled himself, driving the sharp point of his kunai into the enemy's heart. Even if it meant taking a slash, he would kill the man first.

Suddenly, a wooden chest the size of a fist appeared on the enemy's corpse.

Uchiha Jobu immediately understood and reached for the chest that had appeared. A virtual panel visible only to him appeared at the lower edge of his vision.

Besides the notification, he could also open an inventory with twenty-four slots. Only the first slot held anything: a mass of what looked like blazing flames, with a displayed quantity of just 1.

Having confirmed once again that a chest would drop on an enemy's corpse after a successful kill, Uchiha Jobu understood that his cheat worked by killing enemies for loot chests. He immediately turned into a kill-stealing fiend, using Uchiha-Style Shurikenjutsu to snatch kills everywhere.

Against these pathetically weak wandering ninja, throwing techniques alone were enough to kill them with ease.

After they killed every wandering ninja who had blocked their path to steal the supplies, he had gained more than ten kunai and enough fragments for one complete ninjutsu.

The wandering ninja had thought their numbers would let them overwhelm a convoy guarded by only a dozen or so people. Clearly, they had failed to understand that, in the Ninja World, the name Uchiha stood for unstoppable might.

Uchiha Madara said, "Not bad! I didn't expect you to do this well on your first time facing an enemy. That's my cousin for you."

Uchiha Jobu gave a couple of dry chuckles. Who had just said he would protect him? The moment the fighting began, Uchiha Madara had vanished from sight.

Uchiha Izuna pulled his blade from an enemy's chest. His young face, only eight or nine years old, showed none of the fear one might expect at the sight of corpses strewn across the ground. Like a cold, merciless killing machine, he viciously stabbed twice more at an enemy who was not quite dead.

To the other members of the Uchiha Clan, this behavior was perfectly normal.

Uchiha Hato said, "None of you brats got hurt, did you? Especially you, Jobu and Izuna. You're the youngest here. When something like this happens, don't charge in. Leave it to us adults."

Uchiha Madara laughed loudly. "Don't treat us like ordinary kids. I'm Uchiha Madara! None of you are even as strong as me. What right do you have to tell me to hide in the back?"

Uchiha Izuna said quietly, "My brother killed eleven, and I killed three. Uncle Hatō, you only killed two. Even Jobu killed more than you."

Uchiha Jobu had not counted how many he had killed, but his gains were clearly substantial. He had assembled a complete C-rank Earth Release ninjutsu, and his little inventory now held plenty of kunai and shuriken. He just had not collected enough fragments for the Fire Release skill yet.

He had originally thought he had transmigrated into this world without any cheat to support him, and that his only advantage was the Uchiha Clan's kekkei genkai. Now it seemed he simply had not found the right way to activate his cheat.

Killing enemies made treasure chests drop. That was the proper way to use his cheat.

Uchiha Madara had not yet become the Uchiha Clan's leader. Its current leader was his father, Uchiha Tajima, the clan's only Clan Leader Tier expert.

In the Ninja World of the Warring States Era, ninja were not divided into ranks such as Jonin, Chunin, and Genin. The only universally recognized tier was Clan Leader Tier.

Of course, only the leaders of major clans could be considered Clan Leader Tier.
