Zhou Liang entered Douluo Mainland as a Reserve Traveler inhabiting a six-year-old body while retaining the thoughts and experience of his nineteen-year-old self. His temporary panel identified three Martial Souls—Soldier, Defense Tower, and Revival Spring—alongside the Everlasting Spring, Myriad Poisons Spring Transformation, Hundred States of Life Meditation, and Yin-Yang Harmonization techniques 5.

Following his Martial Soul awakening, Liu Erlong waived his academy expenses on the condition that he lead Lanba Academy into the finals of an All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament. She then accepted him as her disciple after he agreed to help her defeat Spirit Hall’s team 4.

His early development centered on building a legion rather than fighting as an ordinary Soul Master.
