Background

Hu Liena trained as one of Spirit Hall’s Golden Generation under Bibi Dong. Despite her title as Holy Maiden, she regarded herself as inferior to Qian Renxue within Spirit Hall’s hierarchy and feared she was being treated only as a substitute. The Consecration Hall forcibly brought her from training to meet Wu Qingkong as a potential replacement fiancée for Qian Renxue. 20

Her first meeting with Wu Qingkong transformed her fear into attraction. He comforted her with cake and clarified that he had come to Spirit Hall to dissolve an engagement, not arrange a new one. Relieved that she was not being forced to marry him, Hu Liena immediately resolved to pursue him herself. 20

After Wu Qingkong rejected her confession, Hu Liena accepted Bibi Dong’s encouragement to improve herself through cultivation. She later attended the Heaven Dou Lake Matchmaking Fair, where she openly rejected Yan and stated that she had already chosen Wu Qingkong in her heart. 31 52
