Overview

The Innate Realm is the third major realm of martial cultivation, following the Qi Sea Realm and preceding the Spirit Astral Realm. Its practitioners are honored as grandmasters, distinguishing them from Qi Sea martial masters and Spirit Astral great grandmasters 5.

Advancement into the realm is a fundamental transformation rather than a simple increase in true qi. An Innate grandmaster breaks the limits of the mortal body, elevates their life essence, and gains a substantially longer lifespan than a Qi Sea martial artist, whose limit is generally about one hundred years 69 184.

Breakthrough from the Qi Sea Realm

A Qi Sea martial artist must first reach the Ninth Layer and accumulate a full, refined reservoir of true qi. The decisive step is constructing the Golden Bridge: pressing the tongue against the upper palate to connect the body’s internal circulation with the outside world 225 226.

The breakthrough opens the Heaven-and-Earth Two Apertures, allowing external energy to enter the body and merge with refined true qi as Innate True Essence 226.

• A cultivator must maintain precise control while true qi passes through vulnerable areas connected to the spine, head, marrow, and brain.
• Panic or a moment of instability can cause true qi deviation, paralysis, sensory loss, severe internal injury, or death 225 226.
• Only a small portion of Ninth-Layer Qi Sea martial artists successfully cross this threshold 226.
• Chen Shaojun’s Sword Domain, powerful spiritual perception, and fusion of Divine Intent, Sword Intent, and Creation True Intent gave him exceptional control during his breakthrough 214 225 226.

Sword Domain and the Innate Threshold

The Sword Domain—also called the Innate Domain—is a swordsmanship realm beyond Sword Intent. It gives a swordsman a tangible field of suppression and represents possession of the foundation needed to step into the Innate Realm, though it does not replace the Golden Bridge breakthrough itself 210.

Acupoints and Foundation

Innate cultivation is closely tied to the ignition of bodily acupoints. The number of acupoints available depends on the practitioner’s internal cultivation method and determines the depth of their foundation.

• The Creation Heart Scripture uses 720 acupoints; its first layer requires 72 ignited acupoints, while its second requires 144 273.
• Other methods may contain fewer acupoints, such as the Five Poisons Heart Sutra’s 540, resulting in weaker foundations even among martial artists of the same realm 273.
• Additional acupoints can be opened beyond a method’s normal limit, increasing strength and improving the chance of advancing to the Spirit Astral Realm 273 279.
• Igniting all 1,296 acupoints creates the Perfectly Flawless Physique, the highest foundation attainable within the Innate Realm 288 342.

Capabilities

• Innate True Essence — Qi Sea true qi transforms into a higher-quality energy after the Heaven-and-Earth Bridge is opened. It strengthens the body and supports more powerful martial techniques 226 227.
• Communion with Heaven and Earth — Innate grandmasters can draw scattered energies from their surroundings through the opened Heaven-and-Earth Two Apertures, then refine them into personal Innate True Essence 227.
• Greatly enhanced combat power — The gap between Qi Sea and Innate is normally described as enormous; even multiple Ninth-Layer Qi Sea martial artists may be unable to challenge a single Innate expert 101.
• Access to higher martial arts — Certain supreme techniques require Innate cultivation. The Tathagata Divine Palm, for example, cannot be properly cultivated or wielded before a practitioner possesses Innate True Qi 225.
• Life transformation — The realm increases physical resilience, renews the body’s condition, and extends lifespan to roughly 150 years 69 226.

Advancement to the Spirit Astral Realm

Reaching the peak of the Innate Realm is not enough to enter the Spirit Astral Realm. A martial artist must draw in Heaven and Earth’s Killing Intent—particularly Earth Sha and Heavenly Astral Qi—to temper Innate True Essence into Astral Force 280 300 342.

The more acupoints a martial artist has ignited, the more Astral Baleful Intent they can bear and control during this transformation 273.
