Back when Hill was still on Toril, Selûne's attitude toward the relationship between William and Shar had mostly been one of watching the spectacle.
Shar's anxious insecurity and careful caution had probably brought her quite a bit of amusement.
But Selûne had not believed Shar would value William that much... at least, not enough for it to affect her attitude toward Selûne and Toril.
This woman really left people at a loss for words.
Hill felt that "spoiled by favor" was not quite the right description. Those affected, melodramatic lines used to describe a simp's love were more fitting for Selûne, like, "People only remember those they crossed mountains and rivers to meet, never those who crossed mountains and rivers to meet them."
After all, Shar had merely been chasing after her to fight. It was not as if she had been pampering her.
In short, now that Shar no longer crossed mountains and rivers to seek Selûne out, her ever self-centered sister had finally come to understand what loss meant and was desperately trying to win her back.
Yet what Hill could not understand was... Selûne had chosen to make Shar return to being that extreme, rootless Daughter of Dark Night.
That woman's starting point was always so selfish.
Clearly, the current Shar was the most stable and the best she had ever been... even Ao had abandoned some of his plans because of it.
Yet if one said Selûne had deliberately done this, had planned it from the beginning and set traps and snares... she had not.
She simply instinctively chose the path among all the options that benefited her the most.
