The Red Fire Kingdom and the Sand Sea Kingdom fought their first battle.
The Sand Sea Kingdom struck first, sending thirty thousand troops from each of its three fortresses. Ninety thousand soldiers advanced together.
The Red Fire Kingdom refused to back down. Its corresponding fortresses sent out the same number of troops for the opening clash. Both sides meant to hold the border steles and yield not an inch.
You want to attack me?
I want to attack you too.
Since both sides were so confident, they would fight without relying on their fortresses.
The point of this battle was to show their strength and make the other side think twice before moving again.
The Epic powerhouses on either side would not intervene. Their job was to hold their positions and keep one another in check.
On the wall of a Red Fire Kingdom fortress,
Blood-Hand Butcher Gugas stared at William Blackleaf with hatred in his eyes.
There stood the sworn enemy who had humiliated him at the Magic-Martial Tournament.
"That damned Dawn City Lord dared show his face here. Leave him to me when the time comes. I'll tear him to pieces and grind his bones to dust." Gugas sneered. As he clenched his fists, metal scraped harshly against metal.
William had crushed both his arms back then. Without a treasure that could regrow limbs, recovering fully would have been all but impossible.
Fortunately, the Sand Sea Kingdom was on fairly good terms with the Dwarf Kingdom.
After his family gave up certain benefits, Gugas obtained a pair of Mana Metal arms. They were stronger, thicker, and more powerful than his old ones—far better suited to the Blood-Hand Butcher.
Beside him, Light Hanton said grimly, "The Dawn City Lord is mine. I'll kill that despicable bastard
