Against The Hand

A name naturally surfaced in Lin Hai's mind: Iron Fist—Danny Rand.

The superhero from the mysterious city of K'un-Lun had inherited the power of the Immortal Iron Fist and was renowned for his burning fists and exceptional martial arts. Wu Fengji, the first Iron Fist, had once successfully used the Dragon God's Power from Shou-Lao to suppress the famous Phoenix Force, then merged with it to become the "White Phoenix."

But Danny Rand was nowhere near as impressive as Ms. Wu. Compared to street-level heroes like Daredevil, he counted as a relatively powerful fighter; but compared to mighty Avengers like Iron Man, Thor, and Hulk, he still fell short.

Iron Fist... logically speaking, he should be one of The Hand's sworn enemies too, Lin Hai mused. But in this universe that combines so many different settings, it's hard to say what Danny Rand's situation is right now.

If things followed the original comics, Danny might have only just undergone countless trials in K'un-Lun, defeated Shou-Lao, and obtained the title and power of Iron Fist, without yet setting off on his journey back to New York.

If it was closer to the TV adaptation, then he might still be a little kid under five years old, with several years to go before entering K'un-Lun.

By the time he grew up in K'un-Lun, mastered his skills, and came out to clash head-on with The Hand, it would be far too late. Matt and Elektra could not wait that long.

Unable to count on The Hand's supposed nemesis, Lin Hai was not disappointed. He quickly cast aside his stray thoughts about Iron Fist and refocused on the reality before him.
