Background

Aurelia was the third illegitimate daughter of Planetary Governor Tiberius van Atalos. The Atalos Banquet

Aurelia presents Li Wei as “Kairos,” a reclusive scholar and heretical-technology adviser, at Governor Tiberius’s family banquet. After Li Wei identifies Isabella, a finance official, and a military officer as infected, Aurelia publicly declares a toast to the “parasites about to die,” initiating open conflict. 20

During the resulting massacre, she coordinates with Li Wei to lure Isabella into range of his null field, then destroys the hybrid’s head with her bolt pistol. The Fall of Atalos Prime

The Hive Mind’s psychic “Choir” breaks Aurelia’s composure, forcing her to cling to Li Wei’s null presence as protection from the hallucinations consuming the city. She remains beside him through the warped landing pad, the living Golden Eagle, and the descent into Atalos’s underground hatchery. 26 27 28

Following the Inquisition’s extermination of Atalos Prime, Aurelia is identified by the Ultramarines as the sole legal survivor of House Atalos. Although she could evacuate as a protected witness, she risks that opportunity to demand Li Wei’s rescue as well. 29
