Background / History

Atticus was an Iron Hands sergeant who was captured and reduced to “spare parts” aboard the Chaos warship Pain. By the time Li Wei meets him in Sector D-9, he has been stripped of most of his power armor, blinded in one eye, and held among mutants and broken servitors. He identifies himself as a former Iron Hands Chapter sergeant despite his captivity 44.

His Pariah aura initially repulses Atticus, but it also suppresses the Warp whispers and the living ship’s corruption around him. Atticus calls Li Wei a “silencer” and begins to regard the otherwise disturbing void as a source of relief 45.

When Elena is brought to the furnace hall for experimentation, Atticus joins Li Wei’s sabotage plan. He destroys an exhaust pipe with a thrown armor plate, fights through Skitarii during the resulting explosion, and carries both Li Wei and Elena into the ship’s waste tunnels 45.

The escape leaves Atticus grievously injured.
