Historical standing

Shrek Academy is associated with the legacy of Tang San, whom its members revere as the Sea God. When the Skyscreen reveals that Tang San will lose to Xu Feng—who later destroys the God Realm—Shrek's members struggle to accept the implication that their revered figure was defeated. Some begin considering a preemptive assassination of Xu Feng before he can grow into the Celestial Emperor. 4

The academy's historical teachings are also called into question when the Skyscreen states that Tang San never married Xiao Wu. Teachers and students debate whether their records were altered, and rumors spread that Tang San fabricated the relationship. 9

Political reputation

Shrek presents itself as an academy, but other powers view it as a political actor that interferes in national affairs without accepting responsibility during wartime. Its weakened position during the Soul Master Tournament leads the Sun Moon Empire, Star Luo Empire, and other empires to regard it as vulnerable and potentially expendable. 27

Xu Feng exploits this reputation while recruiting Huo Yutong, telling her that Shrek would prioritize political interests over her revenge against Dai Hao. He specifically cites the academy's alleged indifference to Tang Ya's grievances; however, Xu Feng admits internally that he does not know whether that account is true. 13

The Sea God Pavilion serves as Shrek Academy's central leadership body. When Elder Xuan's actions provoke multiple powers, Mu En concludes that Shrek's ten-thousand-year foundation may end under his watch and collapses in despair. 41

Sky Curtain response

After Xu Feng's future destruction of the God Realm is announced, Shrek Academy considers eliminating him before he can become a threat. The possibility demonstrates its immediate hostility toward the future Celestial Emperor and its unwillingness to accept the collapse of Tang San's divine legacy. 4

Team Comparison

The Skyscreen identifies Tang San, Dai Mubai, Ma Hongjun, and Oscar as Shrek's Four Scoundrels. Tang San himself is dissatisfied with the group, privately doubting why his future self chose them as companions. 18

Soul Master Tournament losses

Without Huo Yuhao, Shrek suffers severe losses before the tournament: only three main-team members survive, all seriously injured; every reserve member is wounded; and one reserve member dies. The Spirit King known as the Death Envoy escapes. 27

Elder Xuan incident

Elder Xuan enters the Heaven Soul Empire's tournament lounge and attacks its delegation while attempting to force Qin Shubao into Shrek Academy. Most of the delegation's guards and starting members are killed, while Long Aotian is critically wounded defending Princess Weina. 40

Elder Xuan dismisses the Heaven Soul Empire's objections, calls its people insignificant, and claims that Qin Shubao is a Shrek student despite Qin serving as Weina's bodyguard. His actions threaten to turn a recruitment attempt into a conflict involving the Heaven Soul, Star Luo, Sun Moon, and Dou Ling powers. 40 41

Countdown to destruction

Xu Feng heals Long Aotian, allowing him to testify about the attack, then kills Elder Xuan after the latter arrogantly orders him to heal Shrek students. Xu Feng uses Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon to pierce Xuanzi's Taotie Avatar with Divine Artifacts before executing him with the Mountain-Cleaving Sword. 41

Following Xuanzi's death, the Body Sect mobilizes for revenge, the Dou Ling Empire prepares for war, and the Sun Moon Empire dispatches all four of its major legions against Shrek Academy. Xu Feng orders Yaoling to seize Xuanzi's soul so that he can witness Shrek Academy's destruction. 41
