Delin's Slumber

Having obtained Black Jade Stone in Hess City, Linley sought out Colby, the finest weaponsmith in Hess City. However, Colby lacked the ability to forge Black Jade Stone. Disappointed, Linley returned to his residence, planning to find another solution.

However, halfway there, Linley heard a familiar voice.

"Third Brother."

Linley immediately turned around.

Yale, George, Renault, and Arnold were looking at him in delighted surprise. Linley was greatly excited, and at Yale's invitation, he decided to go to the Dawson Commerce's residence and spend time with his good brothers.

At the Elegant Estate where Arnold and the others were temporarily staying, Linley and the others happily talked about their experiences. Yale's father, Monroe, recommended Master Vincent Hyde to Linley, a member of the Purple Flame Warrior Clan, one of the Four Supreme Warrior Clans.

As fellow members of the Four Supreme Warriors, Vincent happily forged a heavy sword for Linley the very next morning.

During the forging process, the heavy sword was struck by a bolt of lightning falling from the sky. That lightning perfectly fused the materials within the sword. A blue-green halo shimmered across the blade's surface, which was unbelievably smooth—smooth enough to kill without drawing blood.

In the end, Linley named the heavy sword Edgeless. After returning to the estate, he continuously practiced swinging it, only to discover Clyde's traces. Without informing his brothers, he rushed over.

A week passed in the blink of an eye. Because Clyde had remained with the ascetics, Linley had never found an opportunity. However, the ascetics finally left, and Clyde also deduced that Linley might have been watching him all along.

After the ascetics departed, Clyde immediately left through the back door, but Linley had already discovered him. After threatening Clyde for a while, Linley learned that his mother's soul had been offered to the Lord of Light by the Radiant Church.

Combined with Delin's Meteorite Descent, six enormous yellowish-brown meteors crashed directly toward the six senior special executors.

The entire hexagram formation immediately scattered. With a shrill whistle, the six gigantic meteors, each as large as a house and formed entirely from earth elemental essence, tore through the air at terrifying speed as they smashed toward the six men. The senior special executors cried out and fled, but the six gigantic meteors followed them.

"Linley." Delin Cowart looked at Linley. "Goodbye."

Linley looked up at Grandpa Delin, dressed in moon-white robes, his beard and hair equally white.

"Remember, live well." Delin Cowart revealed his trademark smile. Then, his already-illusory soul vanished like smoke scattered by the wind, with 99% of it disappearing outright. The remaining 1% of his soul was forcibly gathered into the Coiling Dragon Ring.

The eightfold Greater Gravity Spell was quite powerful, and the Meteorite Descent formed by Delin burning 99% of his soul should have been enough to break through the six executors' hexagram formation.

Of course, after burning such a massive amount of his soul at once, Delin should originally have dissipated completely between heaven and earth. "Die." Linley yanked off another purple-robed figure's head.

"Ha!" Linley's claws plunged directly into the third senior special executor's chest. He tore out the man's heart and crushed it to pieces.

"Go to hell." Linley's claws swept across the throats of the fourth senior special executor, tearing off his entire head.

"Ah." Linley's figure instantly appeared before the fifth senior special executor. Already heavily wounded and unable to resist, the executor could only watch Linley in terror as he tore him in half from the thighs upward.

"Y-you—" The sixth senior special executor, already severely wounded, saw the gruesome scene ahead of him. Seeing Linley charge toward him like a demon from the Infernal Realm, his entire body trembled, and then he collapsed.

Even though the sixth senior special executor was already dead, Linley still smashed a fist viciously into his head, blowing it apart completely.

After killing the six executors, Linley sat on the ground. After thinking for a moment, he did not give up hope.

Grandpa Delin's soul had been weakened to its limit and directly fallen into slumber. If he could obtain some treasure that restored or strengthened souls, wouldn't he be able to save Grandpa Delin?
