Background / History

Linley entered Ernst Magic Academy with high-grade spiritual essence and high-grade affinities for both earth and wind elemental essence. He formed a close bond with Yale, George, Renault, and Arnold, despite their very different origins and social standing 1 2.

Although he initially attended earth-magic lessons with Arnold, Linley soon limited his attendance to once a month and kept his reasons private. His early secrecy, rapid progress, and practical combat ability suggested that he was following a specialized path beyond the academy curriculum 3 5.

His estrangement from Alice drove him into an extended state of concentration while carving her likeness from stone. The experience became an artistic and spiritual epiphany, raising his spiritual force to the Seventh-level Mage realm 18 19.

After his father’s death, Linley attacked King Clyde while pursuing the truth behind his mother’s murder. The Radiant Church captured him and intended to execute him, but he survived the destruction of Fenlai City and continued seeking revenge against Clyde and the Church 27 28 29.

Linley later reunited with Arnold and their former academy brothers, founded the Baruch Duchy in the Chaotic Territory, and prepared for a long conflict with the Radiant Church 96. His growth eventually carried him beyond the Yulan Plane, through the Divine Planes and Planar Battlefield, and ultimately to Sovereign and Hongmeng Controller status 269 270.

He is also capable of restraint and deception when protecting others. When Yale is controlled by the Great Wizard, Linley pretends to be poisoned rather than expose Yale’s condition and risk the controller forcing Yale’s suicide 117.

Despite his pride in battle, Linley treats defeat as instruction. After Arnold’s Gravity Star overwhelms him, Linley immediately asks about the fused profound truths behind the technique rather than responding with resentment 88.

Alice’s disappearance and their apparent falling-out leave Linley emotionally devastated. His prolonged carving of her likeness becomes an enlightenment that raises his spiritual force to the Seventh level 18 19.

Conflict with the Radiant Church

Linley attacks Clyde to avenge his mother, is captured by the Radiant Church, and survives the Day of Destruction. He later learns the Church’s connection to his mother’s fate and loses Delin’s active guidance during the battle with the Inquisition 27 28 29.

Baruch Duchy and Divine Advancement
