His voice sounded strange, and his face was filled with complex emotions—disbelief, delight, hope, fear, and more.

He was truly afraid that his eyes were playing tricks on him, that he had mistaken someone else for Sabo and would have the flame of hope in his heart extinguished once again.

An excited, joyful smile appeared on Sabo's scarred face. Upon hearing the reply, Ace could no longer contain his emotions. He threw his arms around Sabo, tears streaming from his eyes as he roared, "You're alive! You're really alive! Do you know how heartbroken Luffy and I were back then?! Why didn't you come back and tell us?!"

His tears sprayed forth like a fountain as his fists repeatedly pounded Sabo's back.

Equally overwhelmed, Sabo took a deep breath and apologized, "Sorry. I only recovered my memories not long ago."
