Wharton walked up to the boulder. "Up!" He lifted the 1,500-jin boulder, drawing an uproar from the surrounding examiners. Then the recorder announced again, "Age seven. Tibia strength sixty-four times that of an ordinary person. Strength: 1,500 jin. Peak second-rank warrior talent: exceptional." The warrior responsible for recording spoke noticeably louder.
As soon as the warrior finished speaking, the three people seated on the raised platform opened their eyes almost simultaneously and stared sharply at Wharton.
Watching Wharton enter the magic array, Hiri had known all along that a Dragonblood Warrior's talent could not possibly be lacking. Even so, from the moment Wharton entered the array, Hiri's heart had been hanging in his throat, afraid that something might go wrong.
When Wharton emerged from the magic array after only a short while, Hiri relaxed slightly. Only after the test was completely finished, when he heard the teacher in charge of recording announce Wharton's results, did Hiri's body tremble with excitement.
Seeing Hiri's excited expression, Wharton took the test results and walked over to him. Hiri was so excited that he kept muttering to himself.
"Grandpa Hiri, these are my test results." Wharton handed them to Hiri.
"The Baruch clan can finally rise again. In the future, the Dragonblood Warrior will surely shine across the entire continent once more." Looking at the test results in his hands, Hiri spoke with a slight tremor in his voice.
After the aptitude test for warriors, Wharton followed Butler Hiri to the area for magical testing. The magic test was basically the same as Linley's test in the original story.
"Wharton: lightning, fire, and water elemental affinity, exceptional. Mental strength: sixty-two times that of others his age, exceptional," the priest in charge of testing announced loudly once more.
At once, several recruiters from magic and martial academies rushed over:
"Hello, Wharton! I'm from Lambo Magic and Martial Academy. Lambo Magic and Martial Academy invites you to join us. If you do, your tuition will be completely waived, and you'll receive a scholarship of 2,000 gold coins every year. We'll have experienced magic and warrior instructors teach you," one of the recruiting teachers said first.
"Wharton, I'm from Hughes Magic and Martial Academy. We..."
Seeing so many people around him treating him with such enthusiasm, Wharton stood there in a daze for quite a while, inwardly astonished as well.
In such a short time, these academy recruiters already knew my name. That's incredible.
"Wharton, O'Brien Magic and Martial Academy sincerely invites you to become one of our students." A voice rang out from the distance. The moment it spoke, the surrounding area fell silent.
Wharton turned and saw that the speaker was one of the warriors who had been responsible for testing earlier. Two others followed behind him as they walked toward Wharton. As the three approached, a passage naturally opened through the previously crowded square.
"Wharton, O'Brien Magic and Martial Academy welcomes you warmly. Would you be willing to join O'Brien Magic and Martial Academy?" the leading warrior asked again.
Hiri immediately ran to Wharton's side. "Wharton, agree to it." Hiri was beside himself with excitement.
"Sir, I would be honored to become a member of O'Brien Magic and Martial Academy," Wharton replied politely and respectfully.
"Wharton, this is your enrollment certificate. Once the testing is over, you can enter the academy directly," the warrior said with satisfaction.
After receiving the enrollment certificate, the two of them left O'Brien Magic and Martial Academy in exceptionally high spirits. In the end, Hiri even bought two bottles of fine wine, pulling Wharton along to drink with him until late at night before they finally rested.
