Flying ninja tools
Nightview City, General's Residence.
In a meeting room of the Tenshu Tower, the Second shogun, Doichi, convened a meeting of high-ranking officials, including the Doichi of the Land of Night's Military Bureau.
At this moment, a huge projection screen was hanging on one wall of the conference room. In the corner of the screen, an inconspicuous insect the size of an eyeball was lying on it, injecting Chakra into the projection screen.
The previously empty projection screen immediately displayed a vivid image.
The scene shown above is a depiction of the recent battle between Iwagakure and Hidden Mist Village, which took place not long ago in the eastern part of the Land of Water.
However, the battle scenes shown here are not primarily focused on the ninja battlefield on land, but rather on the flying unit that is nominally affiliated with Iwagakure.
From their preparation for takeoff and high-altitude bombardment to the final emptying of all projectiles from their flying ninja tools and withdrawal from the battlefield, every move was vividly presented on the projection screen.
"As expected, the performance of the flying ninja tools, and the firepower suppression they demonstrated on the battlefield, while impressive in this operation, did not exceed pre-battle expectations."
"Yes, after this painful experience, Kirigakure will probably be able to come up with corresponding countermeasures soon. Even if they can't completely counter it, their suppressive power will likely be reduced."
"This was within the initial predictions, so there's no need to be so pessimistic. At least at this stage, the deterrent effect of flying ninja tools is still quite sufficient."
The people in the conference room were actually quite familiar with flying ninja tools and the air combat units formed using these tools.
And just as other countries speculated, this ninja tool and the ninja squad that wields it both originated from the Land of Night.
However, contrary to outside speculation, the flying ninja tools are not a new technology from the Land of Night, but rather an 'old model' ninja tool that was successfully developed by the Technology Research Department several years ago.
The air force squadron that went to the Land of Water used the earliest developed First flying ninja equipment.
This flying ninja tool has now successfully completed the test flights and combat training of the second generation of flying ninja tools, and is progressing towards the third generation.
However, unlike the previous two generations of flying ninja tools, the third generation of flying ninja tools has a very high technological barrier and is currently still in the semi-finished stage. Ideally, it will take several years before it can be officially put into training and actual combat.
Fortunately, the Land of Night has no shortage of time; it has the resources and time to patiently await the birth of the third-generation flying ninja tools.
The actual combat effectiveness of the flying ninja tools... well, it was entirely within the scope of pre-war predictions regarding the Land of Night.
It can effectively expand the reconnaissance range and performs exceptionally well in areas such as harassment, destroying enemy positions, suppressing fire, and depleting the ninja's energy and Chakra.
However, once you want to precisely strike a specific ninja target, the difficulty increases exponentially.
Ultimately, ninjas are too mobile and have a wide variety of methods. As long as one is alert and takes precautions in advance, the speed and distance at which flying ninja tools are thrown downwards will make it difficult to cause direct damage.
Some of the ranged Ninjutsu used by the Hidden Mist Village Jonin can even directly threaten ninjas flying high in the sky.
However, both the Land of Night and the Iwagakure were aware of this drawback, but they still felt that the role of air combat units was indispensable on the ninja battlefield.
Leaving aside their powerful reconnaissance and harassment capabilities, the very fact that they can deplete the enemy's Chakra within a safe zone means that the role of air combat units is immeasurable.
This is why Iwagakure always sends its air force to launch a surprise attack before each operation to warm up the battlefield atmosphere, gradually accumulate advantages, and finally create an overwhelming situation.
Hidden Mist Village understood this, but had no way to counter it. They could only watch helplessly as Iwagakure continued to expand its advantage on the Land of Water's homeland and steadily advanced its battle lines, like a powerless husband watching his wife being ravaged by the enemy.
"This collaboration is also of great reference value to us. As long as Iwagakure continues to maintain this steady and pragmatic style, they can dominate the situation even when not fighting on home soil."
"That's true, but Hidden Cloud Village still need to be careful and guard against them getting involved in the battle of the Land of Water, otherwise unexpected things might happen."
"With Minister Rikuo present, I believe Hidden Cloud Village will make a wise decision and will not act rashly at this time."
Inside the conference room, the ministers of the Land of Night chatted amongst themselves, their tone quite relaxed.
The current situation is very favorable for the Land of Night. A quarter of the various goods transported from the Land of Water to the Land of Earth have actually reached the Land of Night through the Materials Transport Department.
This was something that the Land of Night and Iwagakure had agreed upon before the war.
The meeting lasted for more than an hour before Doichi finally adjourned it.
After leaving the meeting room, Doichi returned to his office.
Upon returning here, he heard his wife, Chihiro, report that delegations from Konoha, Hidden Sand Village, and Hidden Cloud Village had come to request a visit.
The representative of the Konoha delegation was none other than his maternal uncle, Kiyoharu Hyuga.
Accompanying him were his eldest legitimate son, Hiashi, and several sickly children from the Hyuga Clan, who needed to recuperate in the Land of Night.
"Have someone prepare a feast and invite my uncle over. It's been a while since I last saw him. As for the rest, Chihiro, you can decide what to do."
Without Doichi second thought, Kiyoharu Hyuga.
As for the envoys from the other forces, Chihiro, his wife, was in charge of making arrangements.
Doichi was perfectly clear about the purpose of these delegations; they were all there for flying ninja tools.
These special ninja units, capable of taking to the skies in organized formations, are seen as a tempting target by many powerful forces.
However, the matter of trading flying ninja tools is not something he, as a general, needs to handle personally. There will naturally be relevant personnel to negotiate and deal with these delegations.
With the second-generation flying ninja tool technology fully matured and making great strides towards the third-generation flying ninja tools, the first-generation flying ninja tools naturally no longer need to appear on the prohibited sales list and can be sold.
"In that case, I'll hand it over to Shinnō, the head of the Technology Research Department. He happens to be one of the core researchers of flying ninja tools, so I believe he can handle this matter well."
Chihiro nodded and suggested who would represent the Land of Night to negotiate with the foreign delegation.
Dao Yi also thought it was a good candidate after hearing it.
Doichi not unfamiliar with Shinnō, the foreign ninja who had come to join the Land of Night six years ago after being "invited" by his father.
The other party has a high level of research ability. In just a few years, he has not only become one of the few senior technicians in the Land of Night, but has also climbed to the position of supervisor in the Technology Research Department, managing dozens of students under his command.
The other party undoubtedly made great efforts in the research of flying ninja tools, and even visited the Heavenly Dao Palace several times to discuss cutting-edge technological issues with his elderly father.
In addition, the other party has also demonstrated remarkable talent in the fields of energy and biotechnology, and has even won several major scientific and technological awards within the Technology Research Department. He is undoubtedly a rising star in the Technology Research Department.
