Background / History

Lu Cheng inherited his late father’s clinic and medical books after his father died. Though he considered his own medical skill inadequate and initially declined to accept Jiede as a formal disciple, he agreed to share the family’s texts and notes with him. Jiede honored Lu Cheng’s father at his memorial tablet, after which the two came to regard one another as junior and senior brothers. 19

Despite possessing Innate Soul Power of level 7 and reaching level 37 at only eighteen years old, Lu Cheng devoted much of his time to preserving his father’s medical legacy. His father’s final wish left him conflicted: he continued the clinic, but still desired the path of a Soul Master. 20

Jiede’s herb-identification and pill-refining abilities helped transform the previously struggling clinic into a successful practice. Lu Cheng supported Jiede’s medical studies, acquired cultivation resources such as Millennium Whale Glue, and ultimately agreed to join him in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. 20 26 32

Personality

Lu Cheng is gentle, responsible, and protective. He repeatedly places himself between Jiede and danger, whether facing Azure Wind Wolves, powerful Soul Beasts, or the suspicious adults accompanying Huo Wu. 20 21 23 25

He is also pragmatic and cautious. Lu Cheng initially opposes Jiede’s plan to absorb an unusually old second Soul Ring, warning him that a two-thousand-year Soul Beast could be fatal. He only agrees after witnessing Jiede’s physical strength, explosives, and carefully chosen target. 22

Though bound by duty to his father’s clinic, Lu Cheng gradually accepts Jiede’s encouragement to pursue his own Soul Master ambitions. 20 32

He helps locate the Nectar Flower, guards Jiede’s absorption, and witnesses the ring’s refinement into a three-thousand-year Soul Ring. 22 23

Conflict with the Huo and Feng Clans

Lu Cheng recognizes the danger posed by Huo Yan and Feng Wuhen’s interest in Jiede’s cultivation secrets. When Huo Yan threatens Jiede, Lu Cheng restrains Huo Wu with his mantis blades, enabling Jiede to force a negotiated settlement. 25 26

Tournament Commitment
