Huo Wu is outspoken, impatient, and intensely curious. After witnessing Jiede's three-thousand-year second Soul Ring, she refuses to leave without demanding an explanation, even when Huo Wushuang urges restraint 23.

She is exceptionally ambitious about cultivation. Rather than accepting a conventional second ring, she repeatedly presses Jiede for a method to obtain a millennium ring and later asks whether a Ten-Thousand-Year ring could be possible as early as her third or fourth ring 25 32.

Her temper is fiery, but she can restrain herself when necessary. She challenges Huo Yan when he tries to coerce Jiede, and she endures Jiede's candy-shop trick because she still needs his help refining pills 25 29.

• Discovery of Jiede's second Soul Ring: Huo Wu follows the sound of Jiede's explosives to the Nectar Flower valley, witnesses his thousand-year second ring, and immediately questions him about it 23.
• Purchase of Jiede's secret: She joins Huo Wushuang and Feng Xiaotian in paying Jiede 10,001 Gold Soul Coins to learn that improving physical condition can raise Soul Ring absorption limits. Her test of a Stinky Mystic Pellet produces only a negligible result for Feng Xiaotian 24.
• Conflict with the elders: When Huo Yan attempts to force Jiede to reveal more, Huo Wu objects to his coercion. During the ensuing standoff, Lu Cheng takes her hostage to prevent the elders from attacking Jiede 25.
• Pill-refining arrangement: After everyone swears a Martial Soul Poison Oath to protect Jiede's secrets, Huo Wu travels with him and waits for the Huo Clan's resources to be delivered 26.
