Appearance

Dog Demons vary from large quadrupedal beasts to humanoid monsters with dog heads. Their physical strength, pack behavior, and keen sense of smell make them dangerous even before they reach high cultivation. 6 31

• Humanoid Dog Demons can stand on two legs, possess hands and fingers, and wield crude weapons such as wooden clubs. 6
• Lesser members resemble oversized dogs, standing roughly half a person tall and armed with sharp fangs. 6

Behavior

Dog Demons repeatedly raid villages near Yueyang County, demand human sacrifices, and consume captives as blood food. Tao Hua Village was forced to endure regular harassment and was told to provide two people every ten days. 6

• They exploit isolated settlements, preventing villagers from farming safely and breaching wooden defenses. 6 30
• Packs roast and eat human victims openly, leaving villages covered in severed limbs and bones. 31
• Stronger groups keep living prisoners at mountain strongholds, apparently reserving them as future food or hostages. 31
• They can panic and scatter after the death of a dominant leader rather than continuing a coordinated assault. 31

Story Role / Major Arcs

Tao Hua Village raid

Two Middle Blood-Qi Realm Dog Demons and eight lesser members attacked Tao Hua Village after the death of the corrupt middle-aged constable. The pack had been extorting the village for human sacrifices, but Gao Fei joined the villagers’ defense and killed both intelligent demons along with several lesser ones. 6 7

One of the two humanoid demons was pregnant. After Gao Fei mortally wounded her, her mate charged him in anger and was cut apart with Gao Fei’s Tang Saber; Gao Fei then finished the wounded demon. 7

Expansion through eastern Yueyang

Dog Demon territory lies east of Yueyang County, where reports of attacks repeatedly draw Gao Fei and the yamen’s remaining personnel into danger. Their territory extends across villages and toward the border with Yellow Great Immortal’s domain. 5 9 18

As the regional crisis worsens, Dog Demons tear through Tao Hua Village’s outer fence and occupy nearby settlements. 30 31

Mountain stronghold and captives

While investigating a slaughtered village, Gao Fei pursued fleeing Dog Demons to a mountain littered with human bones. There he found more than twenty surviving villagers held by an Early Spirit-Absorption Realm Dog Demon. 31

The leader’s spiritual defenses broke Gao Fei’s Armor-Piercing Spear, but Gao Fei killed it with a Tiger-Leopard Thunder Roar-enhanced punch. Its death immediately caused the remaining Dog Demons to flee. 31

Flight from the Cat Demon

After Gao Fei freed the prisoners, a group of Dog Demons fled past him in terror from a powerful Cat Demon. Two that attacked him were killed, while the rest escaped without engaging. 32

Yueyang County City assault

Dog Demons later gathered outside Yueyang County City, trapping villagers outside the gates and threatening the city’s defenses. Gao Fei held them back alone while civilians entered the city, killing numerous lesser demons and distributing their corpses to the refugees as food. 35

The assault included Spirit-Absorption Realm Dog Demons. Gao Fei killed one with a Dark Force punch and another that used wind-blade attacks, breaking the remaining Dog Demons’ morale and forcing their retreat. 36
