Background / History

Leng Lingshuang was once one of the nine Immortal Emperors of the Immortal Realm. Despite beginning with an ordinary mortal constitution and impoverished origins, she rose through demonic cultivation to suppress prodigies across the myriad worlds. The other eight Immortal Emperors condemned her path, then ambushed her while she fought strange experts beyond the heavens, destroying her body and Dao. A remnant of her soul escaped through the Reincarnation Forbidden Art and reincarnated in the Three Thousand Realms. 12 27

Her memories remained sealed for eighteen years. During this life, Lian Nishang found and raised her, eventually making her the Heavenly Demon Sect’s Saintess. When her former-life memories returned, she vowed to return to the Immortal Realm and take vengeance on the eight emperors who betrayed her. 12

Initially, she regarded Jiang Xuan as an enemy because she believed he had wronged her while she was trapped in an illusion. She intended to kill him, but restrained herself after Lian Nishang disclosed his identity as the White-Robed God King’s son and an heir of the imperial Jiang Family. 12

During their clash in Everlasting Heaven, Jiang Xuan’s system rewrote karma and memories, establishing him as Xuan Jiang, the childhood companion Leng Lingshuang had mourned in her former life. In the altered past, Xuan Jiang saved the impoverished young Leng Lingshuang, gave her a Ghost-Face Mask and silver bell, and later returned to her as a corpse after being stripped of his Innate Sacred Constitution. His death became the catalyst for her demonic path and rise as the Female Emperor. 27

Leng Lingshuang accepted Jiang Xuan’s claim after he recognized the silver bell on her ankle and used her childhood nickname. Her hostility changed into devotion, and she pledged to protect him after believing that Xuan Jiang had returned through reincarnation. 28

After recovering her past-life memories, she sees herself as an Empress temporarily reduced to a weaker body and refuses to accept humiliation or helplessness. She is also ruthless toward threats.
