Reincarnated as Tobirama Senju during Orochimaru’s invasion, Cheng Lu defeated Orochimaru’s forces and returned to Konoha as Hokage. After killing Danzo and purging Root, Tobirama reclaimed the title and began arresting the former village elders, leaving Hiruzen Sarutobi alone with him.

• Tobirama Senju broke free of Orochimaru’s control, defeated Hashirama Senju and drove Orochimaru from the invasion, then helped Jiraiya restore order in Konoha.
• Tobirama dismissed Hiruzen Sarutobi, accepted the Hokage position temporarily, and traveled to the Land of Fire’s capital, where the daimyo Fujiki told him about Danzo’s mistreatment of the Senju.
• After escaping Danzo’s failed sealing ambush, Tobirama confronted and killed Danzo, then ordered Root detained and took over Danzo’s former position.
• Tobirama appointed Shikaku Nara as his advisor, put Kakashi Hatake in charge of ANBU, and announced his return as Konoha’s Second Hokage.
• Tobirama received Wood Release, ordered a purge of Danzo’s loyalists, and was cheered by Konoha residents at his inauguration while Naruto Uzumaki declared that he wanted to become Hokage.
• Tobirama spoke to the Nine-Tails inside Naruto and promised he could free it someday, then learned that Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura wanted to see him.
• Tobirama accused Koharu and Homura of involvement in the attempt on his life, ordered ANBU to arrest them, and sent them to the Interrogation Division while Hiruzen remained behind.

Tobirama Senju forced Sunagakure to surrender after a devastating campaign, bringing Gaara and the Star Clan into Konoha. As the shinobi world reacted to Konoha’s growing power, Orochimaru and Akatsuki joined forces against it and attacked Itachi Uchiha.

• Tobirama Senju confined Hiruzen Sarutobi, took up the Hokage position, and ordered Akatsuki to suspend missions involving Konoha.
• Tobirama Senju demanded that Gaara remain in Konoha during peace talks with Sunagakure, then detained Ebizo and the other envoys when they refused.
• Tobirama Senju declared war, and Granny Chiyo prepared Sunagakure to fight with desert guerrilla tactics.
• Tobirama Senju killed Akahoshi and brought Hoshigakure into Konoha, then used the Star Clan’s flying ninja to support the war effort.
• Konoha’s traps and aerial raids devastated Sunagakure, and Chiyo surrendered after Might Guy’s Daytime Tiger struck the Sand camp.
• Chiyo accepted Tobirama Senju’s demands for compensation, border troop rights, and Gaara’s permanent stay in Konoha, while Naruto Uzumaki welcomed Gaara into training with Sasuke Uchiha.
• Orochimaru secured Akatsuki’s cooperation against Konoha and arranged to claim Itachi Uchiha’s Mangekyō Sharingan after his death.
• Itachi Uchiha fought Sasori, Orochimaru, and Pain’s paths, then redirected his Yasaka Beads toward the exposed Naraka Path.

Tobirama rescued Itachi, brought Tsunade back to Konoha, and helped Itachi recover through a Hashirama Cell transplant. Akatsuki manipulated the villages into an alliance against Konoha, and Tobirama ordered Konoha to declare war.

• Itachi used Shisui’s remaining eye to escape Akatsuki, but Tobirama arrived in time to save him from their ambush and offered to clear his name.
• Itachi told Tobirama why he had massacred the Uchiha, agreed to return to Konoha, and received Shisui’s other eye from Tobirama.
• Tsunade returned to Konoha, diagnosed Itachi with Bloodline Disease, and agreed that Hashirama Cells might cure him.
• Orochimaru used Hashirama Cells to restore his vision after receiving Itachi’s Mangekyō Sharingan, while Obito set Akatsuki’s Tailed Beast hunt in motion.
• Kisame and Kakuzu captured Han, the Five-Tails Jinchūriki, after Han rescued Zi Luo and took her toward Iwagakure.
• Tobirama’s Hashirama Cell treatment cured Itachi’s illness and gave him a powerful new Sharingan and Perfect Susanoo.
• Akatsuki and White Zetsu framed Tobirama for Han’s capture, prompting Iwagakure to confront Konoha and Ōnoki to form a Shinobi Alliance against it.
• Obito planned to hasten the war by having White Zetsu impersonate Konoha ninja, and Tobirama ordered Konoha to declare war on the alliance.

Tobirama Senju destroyed Iwagakure and forced the other villages toward submission, prompting Akatsuki to prepare a war against Konoha with Orochimaru’s resurrected shinobi. As the attacks began, Tobirama and Hashirama Senju joined Itachi against the revived fighters at the Valley of the End.

• Tobirama Senju captured Roshi, Kaede, and Utakata for Konoha while Shikaku Nara arranged a kunai operation against Iwagakure.
• Tobirama Senju attacked Iwagakure, killed Ōnoki and Akatsuchi, and reduced the village to ruins with Wood Release and Mutually Multiplying Explosive Tags.
• Akatsuki prepared to fight Tobirama Senju, while Orochimaru accepted Black Zetsu’s offer to resurrect Madara Uchiha.
• Tobirama Senju rejected Kirigakure’s offer of alliance and demanded that Kumogakure surrender its Jinchuriki and that A take his own life.
• Orochimaru raised an army of resurrected Kage and other powerful shinobi, and Pain declared war on Konoha.
• Tobirama Senju summoned Hashirama Senju, explained Madara Uchiha’s plan and the hidden mastermind behind it, then modified Impure World Reincarnation to give Hashirama a stronger temporary body.
• Akatsuki attacked Konoha from several directions, and Tobirama Senju and Itachi Uchiha went to face Pain and Orochimaru at the Valley of the End.
• Orochimaru sent the resurrected shinobi against Itachi, but Tobirama returned with Hashirama, who protected Itachi as Tobirama froze Mū with Water Release.
