Betty looked at Roger in surprise. "You already have a fanatic believer of your own?!"
"A fanatic believer devoted exclusively to the Technology God?" Roger was clearly stunned.
"Yes, a fanatic believer devoted exclusively to the title Technology God. Normally, the prayers of general believers are split evenly between you and the Goddess. Two hundred times that is exactly the equivalent of one hundred ordinary general believers' prayers—that is the standard for a fanatic believer." Betty's eyes were full of astonishment. "What did you do?"
"What could I have done?" Roger spread his hands. "Can we locate this believer? I'm curious about what happened too. It can't be that they were amazed by a Mana Bomb and became my fanatic believer, right?"
"It's not impossible. After all, it's an entirely new type of magical tool, isn't it? As for whether you can locate them, you'll need to ask yourself." Betty poked Roger's chest with a finger. "Feel with your heart. Let your thoughts follow that Faith Power and explore everything..."
Heart?!
I need to have one first!
Roger was just a soul now.
A fragile soul!
Whenever he thought of that, he desperately wanted to gather Faith Power as soon as possible and escape his current state.
Living as a Divine Spirit gave him absolutely no sense of security.
Especially when the Divine Kingdom was not yet stable.
With a sigh, Roger quickly adjusted his mindset.
According to Betty, he needed to use Faith Power as a channel to explore everything... It was not easy to understand, but the instant his thoughts touched that strand of Faith Power, everything before him began to blur. When he regained his senses, he was no longer in the Divine Kingdom...
Everything happening in Rost Territory appeared before him. He even felt as if he could stir the river of time and see exactly what had happened there!
"That really is astonishing!"
A moment later, Roger's voice rang out again. "Holy shit! Why are you two standing so close to me?!"
The moment Roger opened his eyes, the sight before him startled him.
For some reason, Betty and Book had both crowded right in front of him, no more than half a meter away.
"Don't worry about such details." Betty waved a hand. "What did you mean by astonishing?! What happened? Do you know how that fanatic believer came about?"
Roger calmed himself and spoke unhurriedly. "In the Dawn Kingdom, there is a viscountcy called Rost Territory. Its lord freed all the serfs and slaves, gave them land, trained them as craftsmen, and organized them to mass-produce handicrafts. As a result, he affected the interests of several nearby nobles..."
As Roger recounted the story, Betty looked at him in surprise. "You mean he used Mana Bombs to kill a large number of invading enemies and superhumans, then became your fanatic believer after the war ended?"
"That seems to be the case." Roger nodded. "He may have guessed that the Mana Bomb, this unusual creation, came from the Technology God rather than the Magic Goddess."
"No, that isn't the important part. What I mean is that the uses of Mana Bombs seem to have far exceeded my expectations. Their impact on mortals may also become much more profound."
The surprise on Betty's face did not diminish in the slightest. It was even growing, leaving Roger and Book both puzzled.
"That Viscount Rost had almost no mages under his command, yet in that battle, it was as though he possessed an endless supply of mages. All kinds of spells rained down as if the Mage Legion of the Graycastle Empire had launched an attack, making resistance impossible. Even the same number of mages could never have caused such destruction... And then there are the mortals who witnessed it all. Would they be awed by the power of magic? Could they become believers of the Magic Goddess?"
"As more wars like this occur, the Goddess's believers—and, of course, the believers of you, the Technology God—will increase on a massive scale. To a certain extent, they may even replace faiths such as the War God and Blood God."
Betty's explanation brought sudden understanding to Roger and Book.
If mortals were to develop faith, occasions like this were often the easiest way for it to happen.
"Looks like developing Mana Bombs really was a good idea." Roger laughed lightly. "Come to think of it, I have another idea. How about we research whether it can be realized?"
"What idea? Lord Roger, I truly have no idea how your brain works. You can come up with so many marvelous ideas, one after another. It's simply incredible. As the Goddess's steward, I possess endless knowledge..."
"Go develop the Magic Encyclopedia I asked for first! Tomorrow is the deadline we agreed on!" Roger cut Book off directly, then turned his gaze toward Betty. "Doll, if necessary, send this guy to the little black room. Let him out only after he develops the new feature."
"No! You can't..."
Before Book could finish, his voice could no longer be heard.
Betty was not truly heartless enough to lock him in the little black room, but she did restrain his voice.
"What was that idea you mentioned?" After spending this time together, she had become utterly convinced that Roger was a very intelligent person. He always broke free from the limits of established knowledge and proposed many excellent suggestions.
"Mana Bombs are indeed powerful, but haven't you noticed that their accuracy isn't very high? If we could develop a tool specifically for triggering spells like Scorching Ray and Corrosive Light, wouldn't that make a better weapon?"
Firearms were obviously more suitable than grenades in many situations.
If they could develop magical firearms, then...
After Roger gave a simple explanation, Betty's expression quickly shifted from solemnity to shock.
Once again, she had the urge to crack open Roger's skull and take a look inside.
Especially since, compared to when he had proposed Mana Bombs, Roger had actually named the runes that could be used for development this time. Though his explanation was not very comprehensive, it was still incredible progress compared to before...
Betty even felt that, even without her, Roger would soon be able to develop this kind of ray gun. That feeling caused a slight abnormality in her mental core.
The postwar statistics for Rost Territory had been completed.
They had found no insignias on the attackers, nor anything that could prove their identities.
"Knights, this is not your fault. Under the bombardment of Mana Bombs, such a situation was unavoidable. Go back and rest!"
Viscount Rost waved a hand, as if none of this had exceeded his expectations.
Once all the knights had left, Lady Rost finally could not hold back any longer. "Mana Bombs actually possess such power?!"
They had driven back every enemy with zero casualties. This... was unimaginable.
It truly had been an unimaginable battle!
She did not even know whether she should use the word "war" to describe what had just happened.
This had simply been a one-sided slaughter.
"Yes! Our God's ideas are unimaginable. A weapon that can be activated with merely a trace of magic power is truly terrifying." Rost could not help sighing. "It's just a little expensive. If only we could produce them ourselves!"
"Our God?! Dear, are you planning to convert?!" Lady Rost's eyes were full of shock. Her husband, who had never respected gods or spirits, was actually choosing to convert so suddenly...
