John was not yet aware that the Allied Forces planned to move against Faoken a year later.
After persuading Fritz and getting him to willingly canvass votes for Faoken in the upcoming vote on the Autonomous Region Restriction Act, he refined his "Talent Training Program" a little in his office, then had Wendy put it into effect.
Then he settled back into his usual leisurely routine of handling Faoken's government affairs.
Time slipped quietly by amid the scratch of his fountain pen across paper, and before he knew it, evening had arrived.
Creak!
"John, Marquis Fritz officially departed ten minutes ago."
As the office door swung open, Wendy stepped inside, her voice drifting into John's ears.
"Before leaving, though, the marquis made a few changes to the Hohenheim Family members participating in the Talent Training Program. This is the final list I compiled based on his adjustments. Would you like to take a look?" With that, Wendy placed a document on his desk.
"Thanks for your hard work."
John nodded, then opened the list and began to read.
After giving the revised list of trainees and their assigned positions a cursory look, John found that Fritz had changed only a dozen or so people's positions. Most of those reassigned were relatively less capable than the Hohenheim Family's true elite, so he paid it little mind.
But when he saw the final name and the change Fritz had made to her assignment, John could not help raising an eyebrow.
"Britney Ludwig Hohenheim, withdrawn from this Talent Training Program? This..."
Seeing that Fritz had excluded Marshal Cain's youngest daughter from the training roster, John first frowned slightly, then rubbed his chin in thought. In truth, he did not know much about Britney, an NPC with very little story content in the game.
