An Unpleasant Meeting (1)

Having preliminarily completed his military expansion plan, Roderick came to Dalaran once again with his sister. Wendell had already been waiting there for several days.

The atmosphere of this meeting was relaxed. Roderick was deeply grateful to the Spark family for taking care of Remilia in Dalaran. His sister was hardly the sort of well-behaved child who listened obediently.

Roderick hoped to receive assistance from Gnome technological forces, while Wendell Spark also hoped to conclude these negotiations as soon as possible and do his part in reclaiming Gnomeregan.

With no other disagreements, the two sides quickly reached an agreement: several days later, Roderick would bring his people to Dalaran and travel through the portal to Ironforge to meet with Gnomeregan's senior leaders.

He also learned some inside information from Wendell. When the Gnome city had been invaded by foreign enemies, they had used a powerful radiation weapon, only to cause a severe contamination disaster instead.

A great number of Gnomes had not died at the hands of their enemies, but had instead been killed by weapons of their own invention. The surviving Gnomes fled their homeland, calling themselves the Gnomeregan Exiles, and were temporarily settled in Ironforge by the Dwarves.

The fiercely proud Gnomes were unwilling to accept the Dwarves' charity entirely. Many Gnome mages and engineers went to work across the world, voluntarily handing over part of their earnings to Ironforge's master craftsmen to contribute toward reclaiming Gnomeregan as soon as possible.

Roderick could not help but feel solemn respect upon hearing this. This small-statured race possessed an exceptionally powerful heart.
